That is really fantastic! The NSV's never occurred to me before my WLS, but now they have become so much more important than the number on the scale ever was!

I agree completely. Before WLS, I was so focused on the number on the scale. Now, I am measuring my success by the NSV's. That is the true test. Although keeping the number moving down is important, the other successes are, by far, much more fantastical!

Thank you for sharing this.

I stopped fitting in chairs at the doctor's office and The Orpheum (our favorite theatre in Memphis) about two years ago (around 350...)

I stopped going. We used to save money for season passes and we haven't been to a play in over a year and a half. We make these changes and for some reason...we don't feel that it's a big deal sometimes. It's so strange. I'm glad that your husband is so supportive of you. While he may be an enabler, it sounds like he loves you so no matter what he is going to support you in your weight loss journey, which I think is amazing.

I am so excited at the prospect of fitting comfortably in CHAIRS again, this has made me even more excited about my own WL. I'm so, so happy for you! I cannot even express how delighted I was when I read your post. Oftentimes, these bring a few tears to my eyes because it's such an epic journey that we are on right now. Honestly, WLS has already begun to change my life in such positive ways and reading about all the NSV's that you guys have over time has really helped motivate me.

I have never been much of one for social media. I never did Facebook or Myspace or blogs or forums. Even though I am a techie I was never into the social side of the internet. This site has been such an exception. You guys are my brothers and sisters with the occasional crazy cousin that makes an appearance. I treasure every single one of you and thank all of you for sharing your questions, answers, joys and sorrows. You have all made me feel like I'm not alone.

Congrats on your shower victory! Years ago I didn't buy a particular house for several reasons, one of which was that the shower was tiny. Neither DH nor I would have fit.

Thanks for sharing this. You will get to those regular chairs soon enough. And I think your husband is a dear man for helping you. If he had refused to build you a chair would that have forced you to stop overeating? Probably not.

Looking forward to following your journey. Diane S

I can confirm that even if he didn't help me make the changes that allowed me to get bigger and bigger, it would not have forced me to stop overeating. I simply would have paid someone else to do it for me. As a matter of fact, he and I had arguments at times about that exact subject. Although he went along with me, it did not make him happy. He is much happier now supporting me on this journey. And our relationship has improved as well. So another win, win, win.

What a fantastic NSV! Thank you for sharing. You are a living testament to the fact that we can do hard things, we can make big changes, and we can do so with grace. I hope you're proud of yourself.

You will get there. Time + determination. You are already seeing the results. Keep it up and you will get where you want to be.
