Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Thursday 1/4/17
Morning! Today is a day of meetings for me. I'll have to work in the gym at the end of the day instead of at lunch, I guess. Today is the last reasonable temperature day before we go back to double-digit negatives. I wish I had the day off so I could take advantage of it and go snowshoeing! My husband went out on his snowshoes at 9pm last night, but I could not bring myself to go out there.
QOTD: Do you enjoy winter sports? Skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding? Jon bought me snowshoes a few years ago and I like them but was never able to go very far because it's exhausting. I'm excited to see how different it is this year with 100lbs less! I like in a snowy, mountainous area but I don't like downhill skiing at all and have only tried it twice. Both times I fell dismounting the ski lift and pretty much said - never again!

Thursday... already. Yesterday we took down inside Christmas, today is outside; if we can brave the weather. Here in Jacksonville FL, we woke up to freezing temps. 29! That is unheard of for us (I know... you peoples up north deal with this every day... we are spoiled!) Haha.
QOTD: I do not enjoy winter sports. I can't ice skate and I've never been skiing. I'm more of a sit around the fire and sip a hot beverage kind of person. I love summer sports, swimming in particular. Of course, always being so large, swimming was easy and cool (you don't sweat). I may try some winter sports again next winter when I'm much smaller.
M1: Coffee, Vanilla PP shake, miralax and a warm pureed protein powder/black eyed pea/ham soup. (Warm and YUM).
M2: Broccoli/Cauliflower cheese casserole with shrimp

M4: Skipping
M5: Sous vide rib eye
S: We'll see how the day goes
E: Nothing formal.
Water/Vits: good (water is good again).

Good morning! All my Christmas stuff is down and we are ready to pack to hopefully fly out of Boston tomorrow. In the interim there is a huge blizzard here (just howling wind and rain on Cape Cod where I live right now, but it will be changing to snow). At least I will have all the pre-Floria appointments taken care of. I think we may just have a delay getting out of Boston tomorrow, but we will see...
QOTD: I used to like ice skating and for a few years we used to cross-country ski. I never did downhill skiing. I don't do any of them now, so no I don't like winter sports (hence the departure for Florida).
1 year, 9 months post-op
B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

Today is a snow day! I'm grateful that the guys have jobs that encourage them to work from home when the weather is horrible, and that my mom is safely ensconced in her CCRC and safe as well. I also apparently have all the ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies, so I'll make those today as a snow day treat for the guys and have one myself probably.
QOTD: Um.. does running in the winter count? :D I enjoyed sledding as a kid, but my family was never a skiing family, so I've never had the opportunity to try and have zero desire. I assume, however, I will hear ALL ABOUT IT at the Winter Olympics because I live with a Norwegian and winter sports is Norway's religion.
1: protein shake
2: leftover spaghetti sauce
3: chocolate chip cookie!
4: leftover pork&corn meatballs (I made these for dinner the other night, they were supposed to be turkey&corn, but I had forgotten to put turkey on the grocery list so I made them with pork instead. They were delicious!)
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: yoga - I'd like to shovel the driveway, but I don't feel safe enough on my legs yet.

Good morning all! I'm in Ohio and it is so cold here! I believe the wind chills are supposed to reach around -20! I'm not excited about this.
QOTD: I have never liked the cold and therefore I don't care for any winter sports. I have tried ice skating but I found its so cold I couldn't enjoy it. I do love to go sledding in the winter!
I'm a little over 2 weeks post op
M1:Greek yogurt

Morning All. Still sunny and unseasonably warm in Phoenix. There is a slight chance of rain in the forecast for the weekend. Pray for us. If we don't get rain soon the fire danger will be unreal in the summer. The mountain regions have had ZERO snow this winter and the window for that to happen is quickly closing. I know you all would like to send some of yours our way. :)
QOTD: I've been skiing once when I was thinner and younger and I loved it. Having been born and raised in AZ I do love being in snow on occasion.
B: coffee with HH and Miralax hard boiled egg
S1: apple with PB2
L: salami and sliced zuchinni
S2: Iconic protein shake

Good morning! I'm on my planning and the first day of school is going well, so far!
QOTD: I have been so overweight my whole life that I feel unsure about most sports. I'm a decent bowler (150 average with house materials) and I can shoot a moderately decent game of billiards. I KNOW I cannot ice skate, tried three years ago and almost broke my leg. I might try snow-skiing in a couple years when I am smaller and more active (and have the funds!) It looks like loads of fun. My aunt, who has lived in San Diego for most of her life, just visited Breckenridge and she had a blast!
B: premier protein chocolate
L: babybel cheese and Greek Yogurt
D: 3 oz. Tilapia and 1 oz of boiled cabbage or steamed squash
Snacks: decaf coffee, babybel cheese, frozen lowfat yogurt
I think I may finally hit 64-80 oz. today! I've been hovering between 40-50 (which I KNOW is not good) but I'm starting as soon as I wake up lately and almost making it!

Day's almost over I think I'm going to make it. Day #4 of a hard reboot to a VSG diet was challenging. Other than the mental hump of day three/four of the reboot, work was full of delicious free carbs. Teammate brought cookies, another brought donuts, work provided a gourmet muffin to everyone, send out and e-mail to have seconds, put some extras in my meeting/training room. Even had some left over after work that I could have on my way out. Last month I would have grazed all day, had at least 3 cookies, a donut, and probably a muffin each time it presented it self.
9 am - Johnsonville jalapeno sausage
1 pm - D'Brians spicy chicken tortilla soup - large 240 calories (skipped the bread stick, added extra scoop ~2oz plain chicken breast on the side)
4:30 pm - 1 string cheese
6:30 pm - 2 string cheese
10 pm - two 1oz homemade meatballs, 1/2 cup homemade marinara, 1/4 cup mozzarella
4 day average ~1100 calories ~25 g carbs ~10 g sugar - I don't worry about fat, sodium, and know I always get in enough protein so I just keep an eye on trying to have low carbs and sugars
H20 - light for me 64oz so far, plan on fitting in 32 more before bed
