Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Monday 1/1/18
Well, my first attempt at writing the date and I had to try a couple times! Happy 2018! I hope you all had a fun celebration last night, whether that was out at a party or tucked in your bed. One kid was asleep by 8pm and we put the other one down at 9pm. With all the illness running around this house, no one needed to stay up until midnight! I was sleep by 10pm and Jon came to bed a little after 11pm. We're obviously not a house of partiers! We did watch a movie and have some popcorn.
QOTD: How do you like your popcorn? Butter, salt, caramel? None at all? My favorite is movie theater popcorn with lots of salt. For obvious reasons, I don't get that very much these days!

Happy New Year! DW and I were tucked into bed at midnight, haha! We said our happies and went to bed to ring in 2018. In our early twenties, we would always stay out until the buttcrack of dawn. Then, we started having dinner and movies. Now, it's rare that we are even awake. Ah, how things change.
QOTD: Well, it used to be the pop-up bowl of kettle corn. Since surgery, I seem to crave salty rather than sweet, however. When I'm cleared for popcorn and can afford it in my macros, I'll probably have some lightly salted because that sounds delicious right now!
B: decaf coffee, premier protein caramel
L1: 1/2 premier chocolate
L2: 1 oz of refried beans and 2 oz. Of baked chicken
D: 2 oz. Turkey and 1 oz. Low-fat cheddar
S: sugar free apple cider, Greek yogurt, 1/2 premier chocolate
Are you successful at eating 3oz already? At your point, I could only eat 1/2-1oz total of anything other than yogurt. My lunch will be pretty much the same as your dinner and I'll only have one more ounce than that (3oz of turkey and 1oz of cheese).

My instructions from my two week follow-up say that my meals should now be between 2 and 4 ounces, as long as it's comfortable. I don't eat more than three unless it's plain yogurt drink. I never feel uncomfortable, except the first couple times when I ate too fast. It takes me about 25-35 minutes to eat. I haven't thrown up or gotten any weird gurgles.
I don't know if you mean like, weight loss wise successful? I've lost 43 pounds in the last 35 days. I was 373 on November 26th and I'm 330 today.
No, not commenting on your weight loss. Just, I could not eat 2-3oz of something like chicken or cheese until I was about 6 months out. And I know in the beginning some folks don't feel restriction even if it's there because the nerves are cut.

I did worry that it was too much since I have seen that a lot across the boards, but everyone also says to follow the plan you're given. I literally have not thrown up a single time or felt weird (now that I have said that, I'm sure that I will though, haha) and I know I won't feel the restriction for several months (or until my stomach has healed.)
I may decrease to 2 oz. of solids for meals. I bet that would expedite my weight loss, too.
I've heard that size of the sleeve doesn't really matter a terrible amount in the scheme of things. I did ask and got an answer, and I remember mine was small...32 or 34? But, the surgeon acted like that was really inconsequential in the scheme of things.

Happy New Year! We were in bed by 11 last night. Though we stayed up past midnight a few times over the years it was never a priority for us and last night was as festive as we get (early toasts at a friends home then dinner at a nice French restaurant).
QOTD: I can take or leave popcorn, so I haven't had any since WLS.
1 year, 9 months post-op
B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: Leftover scallops from last nights dinner
S: almonds (a natural laxative for me, needed today!)
