Getting closer but still slower than I'd like

Well this whole process sure a great expertise in learning to be patient.

i got a call from the bariatric centre at the hospital this afternoon telling me I'd be getting a letter probably next week telling me when to come to the pre-op seminar. That should be sometime within a month after getting the letter as they hold them every 2 weeks. I'll be informed of dates for my surgeon and anesthetist appointments at the seminar, and when I meet the surgeon I'll get my surgery date. You folks probably know all this. I'm excited as hell and feel a bit like a race horse being held back. I was hoping for surgery beginning of feb but it looks now like I'm into March. I'm supposed to play in a concert 26 March and that's why I wanted it before mid February.

im also thinking a little more waiting time will give me another month to excercise and get in shape, as I've always found the better shape I'm in the more quickly and easier I heal.

The wait is hard when you're so ready, & want it so badly! Good luck!

I'd suggest scheduling your surgery for AFTER your March concert. For the first several weeks, you will likely be completely exhausted and in no shape to rehearse, much less perform.

The whole process in my country took me about 1y 3 months but there are people 2-3 years in the waiting line for the surgery. The waitline is long because the surgery is free if your BMI is over 40. So I would say you are having your surgery quite quick! Good luck and this is totally worth it!! I'm down almost 50 pounds and it's not even 1 month post-op yet!! :)
