Starting around 250, need some advice!
Erin, do you eat fruit? If yes, how much daily? Thanks!

Disclaimer: I'm in maintenance.
But, no I do not generally eat fruit. I eat strawberries and blueberries during the more regular season for them. I've had bites of apple in the last couple months. I don't eat any other fruit. Honestly, I mostly eat what I did while losing (meat/fish, yogurt, cheese, eggs). I now add 1oz of weighed veggies when I have room and about once per week I eat chili/beans of some variety. I do not eat grains of any sort (except occasional popcorn) or potatoes.

Thanks! I asked because I like to know the secrets of successful people I added fruit & veggies about a month ago, felt strong urge that my body needed it. Haven't eaten any carbs otherwise. It's currently working for me, but if I stall I will stop.

Thanks for the compliment! We'll see where I am in 5 years. At the point you're at I literally had no room if I was going to maximize my protein. That's always been goal #1. I get 120-140g now in maintenance.

There are a few who were at 350+ and got to that weight, and they are my inspiration. I don't know why your doc would say that. I guess statistically speaking most do not lose 100% of their excess weight, but many do. It is possible!

FWIW, my starting weight was 271.5. I'm 16 months out, still losing and now 165. While I thought I wanted to get to 150, I'm not sure right now, because I really like the way I look right now and I'm working with my personal trainer to reduce my body fat percentage and increase my muscle mass. Yesterday, I deadlifted 10 pounds more than I weigh right now. Most people look at me and don't think I weigh 165 and think I'm crazy when I say I think I'd like to lose another 15 pounds.
I'm 5'3". Right now, my body fat percentage is around 32%. I want to get down to about 26%. (I'm down from 36% about 5 weeks ago.) While my numbers on the scale don't change a lot, my body has changed significantly with exercise. I've lost 85% of my excess body weight, if I use 150 as my goal number, which is a huge success according to my group. (They've asked me to speak with the newbies as motivation at group.)
I know that I will lose a few more pounds with plastics when they are done as there is plenty of skin that needs to come off. So, I really only have about 10 pounds to go to be at "goal". Don't worry about the number. Worry about how you feel in your skin.
Best of luck on your journey.
Keep on losing!
Diana
