Talk to your doc. They usually would only prescribe 1 as they are both the same class of drug (proton pump inhibitor). Call surgeon today and get clarification if you can.
I have heard from several people that VSG makes GERD worse and my doctor told me that it will solve the problem that I had with GERD by having the VSG maybe because mine was caused by my band?? Who knows I think this is all a guessing game at this point lol

did you have GERD prior to the band?
unfortunately, the band has been known to cause permanent damage that can cause the GERD that you developed from damage from the band, to be permanent.
I'm surprised he said that. There are many who experience GERD after VSG, some that have never had GERD before. Many surgeons will not reccommend VSG for patients with a prior history of GERD. I have also heard that some do not get it, so let's hope you (and I) are not one of them!
I've also been 'hungry' but I think it's just psychological cravings for carbs rather than actual hunger. Try to remember that your stomach is full!
