Help! I need advice

I'm 21 days out on puree. Yesterday I started having a really hard time drinking the premier protein. It's just suddenly not agreeing with my tummy. I've tried warm, cool, really really cold and I'm slow sipping it. Anyone else have this issue?

I've been able to get close to my protein goal since day 5 or 6, so this is making me so nervous. Also how many calories did you take around this stage a day. (I talked to my nutritionist already.

Thanks!!!

Are you having trouble with other liquids?

You might want to try a different protein shake. Powder + almond milk. Your body might have decided that it doesn't want premier protein anymore, or that it doesn't want whey protein, or that it doesn't like the flavor.. could be anything.

Thank you! I'll try a different protein. I know I won't see anyone till after Christmas so I'm gonna try a few things on my own

Yes! After two weeks on liquids (mainly protein shakes) I developed temporary lactose intolerance. I started taking a chewable Lactaid tablet before I drank one and it made the last week of liquids tolerable. Once I got on soft foods, I could handle those and dairy again. Weird.

That is so strange. But ill keep that in mind. My stomach hurts so bad and I feel nauseated for the first time since surgery

I have had problems with the Premier Protein also. It wasn't always that way, I was initially able to drink it with no problems. If I drank more than half I would feel a little sick but that lasted only about 15 minutes. Then recently anything dairy has been causing intestinal distress. (Some urgent trips to the bathroom. Didn't make in time once.) I am afraid of anything dairy now. So it seems weird that initially I did fine but no longer.

The only protein liquid I tolerate is Isopure clear in the lemonade flavor and I mix it with ice water. All others are horrible.

I had issues with protein shakes, but it started right away and has now resolved. I'm a little over 8 weeks out. I ended up having to drink a Vegan shake. I also started just using food for protein when I couldn't get the shakes down. I did high protein greek yogurt a lot. My tastes are still changing I've noticed. I have less tolerance for sweet items the last two weeks and can hardly eat yogurt now.

I went to GNC and bought several individual bottles of protein shakes to try out to see which ones worked before I committed to 4 packs or cases.

Just hang in! You will get your protein up. Work on the water and make sure you hit that if nothing else. I was consuming about 500 - 600 calories at that point. Now I'm at about 700. I have a hard time hitting the protein goal if I don't go that high.

Thank you all for your insight! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I had issues on a diet with HMR shakes as well. I'm taking a break from protein shakes and trying to get it from my puree food.
