Morning! I did something yesterday that was on my bucket list. I ran for a mile straight. That probably doesn't seem like a huge deal, but it's been a hard climb to get there. No one tells you that even if you were a generally healthy morbidly obese person, that there is so much work to get yourself to a normal baseline for your new weight/age. I've been running intervals for 7 months (up to 3 miles at a shot of 4+ minutes at a time and then a minute of brisk walk) and finally got brave enough to try a whole mile without slowing to a walk for any of it. My goal is to be running a full 30 minutes at a shot by the time I have surgery at the end of January, so I needed to pu****! Cardiovascularly that isn't an issue, but my ankles and calves are like "WTF are you doing to us, lady?!"

QOTD: What's one of your bucket list items? I have secret wishes to run a truly long distance. Right now the idea of a half marathon is insane, so maybe that. I don't talk about that publicly because um, I just ran a mile for the first time

Well, today is the day. The much anticipated, scary as hell, Christmas party at the old job. I'm up super early, polishing the rims on my wheelchair and getting everything just so. Wish me luck.

QOTD: I was not sure I even had a bucket list. Then I thought about it. I'd like to skydive someday. I'd like to ride a horse again someday. I'd like to be able to scuba dive someday. I guess before the WLS these all seemed like pipe dreams and I guess I didn't ever think they might happen. I realized this morning, that they very well could. Thank you Erin, that brightened my day.

M1: Chicken stick, coffee and 1/3 PP shake

M2: TBD

M3: TBD

M4: TBD

M5: Sous vide pork roast w/ brussel sprouts

S: Something with protein and no/low carbs depending on what gets eaten above.

E: Lots of painful smiling.

Water and vits on track.

Good morning! I'm up relatively early to get my stitches from PS removed. I think I can wear regular makeup starting tomorrow so hopefully will start looking more normal.

QOTD: I guess my bucket list includes traveling, especially to Paris, but I'd like to go back to Italy and Ireland, and go to Spain, and .... Also, I'd like to have grandchildren but that one is even more out of my control than the former.

1 year, 9 months post-op:

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese, and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Crack slaw (maybe - but might get something else to cook)

S: Protein bar

Congrats! The good thing about "running" a half marathon is that you don't actually have to run the whole thing. Lots and lots of people do intervals in races and many people walk a mile or two or 13.1. :) The only thing that really matters is awareness of the course time limit and being able to beat it in whatever forward motion combination you opt for.

I'm up early this morning since I needed to help Lance drop the Mini off at the auto body shop. And then we stopped by the local bakery and got donuts on the way home. I think it's been at least 30 years since I've had a fresh baked yeast-type donut. It was amazing. I understand now why people rave about the local bakery!

Yesterday's appointment did not go as well as hoped because, apparently, it's hard to find psychiatrists who practice evidence/science-based treatment. Today I plan to spend time on the phone with my insurance company so I'm -totally- looking forward to that. Not. :/

QOTD: I don't really have anything that I think of as a bucket list, but I would love to see the Northern Lights and get to Svalbard at some point in my life. Considering my partner is Norwegian, these things do not seem out of reach!

1: donut
2: protein shake
3: burger
4: probably the rest of the burger since it's leftover night

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: nope
