Completely agree, Cecily! It would be nice to go out shopping or to dinner and see people not looking like slobs! I'm all for comfort, but sloppy seems to the the overriding fashion trend anymore. I miss people looking nice in public :(
ETA: And DO NOT get me started on pajama pants and slippers in public! OMG!!!!!
I second that wish. I remember when people used to dress up to fly on an airplane and the thought of being out in your PJ's would be horrific. Not that we all need to wear formal wear 24x7x365, but when you go to a high end restaurant, it would be nice to not see people in work out pants and flip flops.
I wanted to add - I used to wear flannel shirts ALL THE TIME. My "uniform" in high school was t-shirt, jeans, and a flannel shirt. Now I have two. One from my dad that's HUGE and I wore it as a lab coat during dissections, and the other I stole from my mom. But I think she originally stole it from me when I got too large to wear it? So that makes it okay.
I always want to find new flannel shirts now, but all the ones that are cut for women seem like they're stupidly thin.

QOTD - I so hate that everyone today dresses so casually - I want to bring the Jackie O era of the 60s back - cigarette pants, pillbox hats, Breakfast at Tiffany's little black dresses, grown ups dressing like grown ups. But, that's just me.
B - Quest Salted Caramel protein powder, cold coffee, sugar free chocolate syrup, 2T Oikos Triple Zero Vanilla and Ice - Frappucino
L - Homemade chicken salad with craisins and slivered almonds and a green salad
D - Who knows - I have a pre-board meeting at 5, a board meeting at 6 and fencing at 7, so I probably won't get to eat anything.
S - I have some yogurt and some mozzarella sticks in my lunch bag.
Exercise - Hopefully I'll be able to fence for at least an hour tonight - depends on how late the meeting runs.

Good morning! My mom took some pictures at Teddy's birthday party on Sunday, and posted them on Facebook today (his actual birthday). It's so nice to see pictures of myself without cringing!
QOTD - I've got nothing. I have a strained relationship with fashion. Growing up, my parents couldn't afford a lot of the things that the cool kids were wearing. Add to that trying to hide my body behind loose clothes, and not wanting to spend money on clothes in a size that I didn't want to be. I didn't really get into trends for those reasons.
B - latte, cottage cheese
L - meatballs
S - protein shake
D - we're ordering in for Teddy's birthday. I'm going to get the grilled chicken and avocado salad.
E - probably not

Good Morning All - Last full day of work till I go on leave - only working half day tommorrow - wahooo. Feeling totally exhausted and need to slow the pace down a lil. We have been out every night this week - which is wonderful to be catching up with those who are special to us but bad for getting enough sleep zzzz
Wednesday night we were caught in a massive hail storm on the way to my work breakup dinner- and its looking like my car will be written off due to the damage. It looks pretty much like the skin of an orange with 40-50 dents each over the roof and bonnet. Not great timing with all the expense of Christmas but cant change it so just run with it - thankful no one was hurt
Christmas gifts are all done (need to finish wrapping at some stage) but Sunday will be final food shop and will spend the day cooking. Saturday is my birthday and Im going on strike - going to attempt to do very little. My sons are taking me out to lunch as their gift as they nagged me on what to buy and I can honestly say I dont need anything but asked for the gift of their time. Im really looking forward to it. Hubby and I will do something in the evening with my mum.
QOTD: I was never really able to follow the trends growing up as I was always too big to make them work for me. All those short and fitted clothes just didnt go well on a body my size. I still tend to ignore the trends and dress to suit my figure - as one of my biggest fears is looking like as we term it in Australia "mutton dressed up as lamb" Cringe !!!

QOTD: I FINALLY look good in skinny pants and am wearing them for the first time even though they have been in style for over a decade. I really don't want the skinny jeans/pants trend to disappear anytime soon.
