Yep, and my preferred temperature changed from almost turning into ice blocks to slightly cooler than room temp.

I highly suggest the Mio drops or similar, because I also found that my preference for how much flavor varied day to day as well.

I can only sip no matter what beverage I use, so ice water is both cooling and great for the 64 oz needed. So Im guessing that you haven't been sipping. Which you need to do because your stomach is so small now or you risk getting the dumps.

As others have said, 100% normal. I actually ran a 10k with my WL surgeon in October. At the end, they were handing ou****er bottles, straight from barrels filled with ice. He went to grab one for me, but first asked me "what do you drink now, ice cold or room temp?" So, not only is it well known by all of us here, but it's well known within the medical community.

Why would the taste of water change after surgery..?

Yep, water sometimes tasted weird to me too. I don't like artificially sweetened drinks so a good thing is to put a bit of lemon or lime juice in water. Also, get a bottle of tart cherry juice (unsweetened) and put just a splash in to a glass of water. Or get some old fashioned instant tea and add a bit of it to water. The strange taste of water will eventually pass but for now, try the above. DS
