Surgery tomorrow!
Best of luck to you. Wishing you an uneventful surgery. Mourning food is apparently normal. I went through it as well. It gets better.
Thank you! And 53 lbs in a month and a half is amazing, congratulations.

Thanks. I lost 27 lbs pre-op, and 26 pounds post op so far. I wish I could say 53 pounds post op!!! I'm a slow loser!
That doesn't sound slow to me; you should be very proud of that!

You are also not alone. Prior to surgery, the main course at our house was most of the time something breaded and fried. And my favorite carb was pasta and rice. I truly mourned turning my back on the carbs and putting the fryer on the top shelf of the pantry, but it has worked out. Sous vide and smoked food is now my new best friend.
Here's another plus. If you like seafood, you will be able to eat lobster every week. a 4 oz lobster tail can be bought for about $5, the prior cost of a combo meal, and will fill you up just like that old burger and fries. Yumm!

Just had my surgery on the 14th.
tips:
1. WALK WALK WALK after the surgery and as much as possible. There will be air in your body and walking will help! That air is extremely painful.
2. I had my wify buy fat free sugar free italian ices. That made the full liquid diet attainable for me.
3. sip everything, including water, never gulp, after the surgery. Ingesting quickly can lead to bad results.
4. See if you can get the medicine you'll need after the hospital Before the surgery. Very important.
