If ever I needed ibuprofen...

I am giving it a try. Before surgery, I regarded Tylenol as a placebo compared to ibuprofen or other NSAIDs.

Before WLS, I only took Advil Liqui gels. I swore that Tylenol was way less effective. However, 2 tylenol seem to alleviate the aches and pains pretty well. Although, I do notice that they don't seem to last as long. I've got a cranky shoulder from a car accident and the tylenol will help me fall asleep at night when the weather has everything aching.

Tylenol is doing better than I hoped, and not as well as I wished. Maybe I'm a big sissy pants. Haha, seriously, I am glad for it working as well as it does. Yesterday I had to turn my whole body to aim my head where I wanted to see. Today I was able to use my neck the way it was designed to be used, with less pain than before. By tomorrow I hope to be back to "regular old man" status.

100-150 pounds huh? Now think about how much you've lost. Kind of crazy when you put it into perspective with how difficult it is to move around huh?

How 'bout it!?! Take a 150 lb log and carry it around for a few minutes, and then realize I was hauling all that and more around every day all day.

I get tension head and neck aches and I found that the rapid release Tylenol capsules work well. Not as good as Advil, but better than just regular Tylenol tablets. You can also try a heating pad on your back!

That was quite a work out for sure.

I'm also cleared for ibuprofen, but I try to avoid it when I can.

Someone suggested epsom salts in a hot bath. That's ALWAYS helpful for me. A cup or two of epsom salts in a large tub does the trick.

I have also found that I need a LOT of heated acoutremount between my auto-immune arthritis and WLS. I have a heated mattress pad with zones so I can keep my feet warmer than the rest, it's AWESOME. I also have a heated throw blanket on the couch where I watch TV with hubby, and I'll probably be getting another one for my reading chair. I have THREE heating pads scattered around the house in addition for my back or knees when they're really hurting.

Hope you feel better soon!

I didn't even KNOW they made heated throw blankets! I'm going to have to go look for something like that. Our life cir****tances here have been reversed. I was always hot, and my lovely wife was always cold. Now I'm cold, and I'm living with The Flash, if you know what I mean. Same argument still, but now we're on different sides.

There are several styles and a couple of brands, but this is the basic one I have (different pattern) and it's AWESOME. Best present EVER from my hubby and daughter.
