2 days post op and already losing weight??
I'm two days post op and already losong weight! I am seven pounds down and it is a little crazy. I feel energized and really great I still need some pain killers and my blood sugars kinda low but I'm great. Ive already had my first. BM. Is it normal to lose the weight so quickly? Has anyone else had this experience?
That's great! Most of us are still filled with fluid so soon post-op.

Fantastic! It's hard to believe how fast it will come off some weeks, especially early on. But other weeks you'll stall as your body tries to play catch up, so remember this good week. I felt great after surgery. I went back to work after 6 days but I definitely did not feel energized. I was dragging ass the first three months. Stick around the boards here and let us know how you're doing.
I came home from the hospital 9lbs lighter than I went in. So, yeah it happens! It actually happens to everyone I'm sure, but a lot of folks battle water retention from the IV fluids for the first week or so.

I remember losing 2 lbs A DAY in the first month after surgery. I have to be honest...it kind of freaked me out. I also remember almost immediately all my sandals were loose (I had surgery in June). That told me I must have been retaining a lot of water.
But it settles down after a few weeks. As others have posted, I did hit a stall about 9 weeks out, so don't worry if that happens. From there I would lose a few pounds, stall for a week or two and then drop 3 - 5 lbs in a day. My understanding it's your body dealing with rapid weight loss.
I hope this helps... of course how you lose might be different but I remember reading that what I experienced was very common.
Congratulations on making it this far!
