Morning, VSGers! It's one day closer to the weekend! Although, I'm feeling pressure for the holiday coming up for sure. I probably need to make buckeye balls and oreo truffles on Sunday. It's just not as fun to consider making them without the allure of eating them.

QOTD: Do you have 'mandatory' holiday baking that you do? I already mentioned the buckeye balls and oreo truffles. I also make a family recipe cheeseball and there is a whole myriad of savory snacks that my family demands to have for Christmas Eve (luckily most of them are protein forward and I can indulge).

Morning all. Word to all the rookies. You can do everything right and the scale may not reflect it. Give it time! This morning, the scale says I gained 2.2 pounds. It lies! I upped my water intake so it is probably water weight gain, which should even out over the next few days. As someone else mentioned, I probably should measure as my rings are getting looser so I know I'm still losing. I just wish the number on the scale would play along. LOL

QOTD: Traditionally, I bake. 6 or more different kinds of cookies, chocolate covered everything as well as nut mixes and spiced nuts. This year I said no. I don't need the temptation or the extra work. Everyone seems to be ok with it. And if they are aren't? Tough cookies.

M1: 2 Poached Eggs

M2: 2 oz Honey smoked turkey breast

M3: PP Caramel

M4: 2 oz sous vide chicken breast

M5: 1 oz Stir fry pork with vegs (brussels, chinese cabbage, green beans, mushrooms, onion & garlic)

S: 1 oz Fage 0%, unflavored protein powder and SF peach jello powder

E: Cleaning bathrooms and vacuuming.

Water (got over 80 ounces yesterday!) and vits on track

Good morning! We had snow here overnight. I was hoping for a delay, but no luck. Yesterday I used my bullet style blender to make a green protein shake. I combined my normal protein shake with baby spinach. It was delicious. I've been craving vegetables, and this seems like an easy way to get some in without filling me up too much.

QOTD - I've mentioned this before, but I made four types of cookie dough earlier in the fall and froze them. I always make chocolate jrinkles, Mexican wedding cakes, and candy cane cookies. This year I added in pepparkakor, a Swedish ginger cookie. I'm gluten intolerant, so I made three of the doughs with regular flour so I won't be tempted to indulge. I did make thhe pepparkakor gluten free, and I plan on having one cookie on Christmas Day.

B - latte, cottage cheese

L - Leftover steak fajita filling

S - green protein shake

D - probably the last of the crack slaw

Water and vitamins on track

QOTD: - Pizzelles (at least two kinds), Spritz butter cookies in at least three shapes, and Tassi (cream cheese crust mini tarts filled with walnuts). Haven't started yet.

B - Probably a shake

L - Chicken skewers and a salad

D - haven't gotten to the freezer to see what's in there

S - good question

I'm behind the 8 ball. Missed a day of work yesterday to being with a sick kiddo in the ER. She's home with a fever today and its too icy to leave my neighborhood (city never plowed or salted). So my whole week has been a sh*t show and isn't getting any better. Hope you all have a good day.

Keep on losing!

Morning all. It's bitterly cold here in the Northeast.

QOTD: I spend an entire day (this saturday) making cookies with my daughter and son's girlfriend. We make about 9 different kinds and multiple batches for each house. The first year of my VSG, I did not indulge, but now I do - hopefully in moderation. Luckily my favorites are low fat and high fiber (almond biscotti) and are brick hard so they take time to eat. Mmm

B: steel cut oats

L: going out, not sure what

D: chicken and salad

E: doubtful, hair appointment after work, too cold to walk, except the dog

L/V: hopefully good

I hope today will be a relaxing day. Unlike yesterday was and unlike tomorrow will be! The house is getting de-surgified slowly. The only real signs of recovery are the wound dressing supplies on 1/2 of the table and then the lift/recliner chair in the living room. Yay rah! Slowly reclaiming normality.

QOTD: There must be pumpkin bread. Art grew up with it so I make it at Thanksgiving and then for winter vacation. It's super spicy (in the "full of spices" sense of the word) compared to a lot of pumpkin breads I've tried in my life. Yum. Then, for our holiday morning, we have a coffee cake that we always have for breakfast before we begin unwrapping presents. But that's about it for baking! We have our family tradition meals - spaghetti for the night before the holiday, grilled things (filet mignon, salmon, mushrooms) for the night of the holiday, and then one night before the picky eaters arrive my mom and I pick a neat cookbook and do a meal from it. This year we've chosen Modern Israeli Cooking by Danielle Oron.

1: protein shake
2: deli chicken (this will fini**** off. I might add some dressing for flavor.)
3: it's a leftover night and I have no idea what's leftover at the moment. Worst case scenario? There are always eggs and cheese!
4: second protein shake if necessary

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: nope

Weight? Calories, a big fat zero

I lived . Soreness is about on par with the sleeve surgery. Still waiting for the dr to come by and an X-ray of some sort before I get cleared for water and find out when I can go home. I would do anything for a measly ice chip! My throat is dry and hurting and we won't speak of how gross my mouth feels. I'm super tired, but we all know hospitals are terrible places to rest. The nurses have all been so nice though.

QOTD: All this talk of food and baked goods is killing me you guys! I don't do much baking because I just end up eating it all, but I do make a yummy caramel, almond, cranberry tart for Christmas dinner that's really tasty.

B,L,D,S - hopefully something, anything!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Glad to hear you're doing okay, Cecily!! I had an umbilical hernia repair in Feb 2016, about 9 months before my sleeve. I hope yours was laparoscopic...mine wasn't. Hope you got food today!! Get well soon!
