Not a good 1st
I've been really proud of myself because I've been eating very small portions, eating very slow, chewing like I'm suppose to. I have never had nausea or vomiting. Tonight I made an appropriate portion of salmon, and I guess I was excited, because I totally forgot myself, and ate way too fast. Well you live and you learn. I sat there for a good 10 mins trying to burp it down, but to no avail. Yep, let's just say my salmon didn't stay with me. I feel like such an "old me" right now. I will definitely take from this experience because it was not pleasant. Any newbies like myself out there reading, don't get too comfortable. Chew chew chew, and eat slowly!
Happened to me too. Got into an animated conversation at dinner and swallowed a chunk of chicken with barely any chewing. You are right... I will not do that again. LOL
Don't despair and you are not the "old" you. We didn't create the habits overnight so we can't expect to change them overnight. This is why we had the surgery. Our tool will assist us in correcting our "old" bad habits (and sometimes the lesson will be unpleasant). You are successful if you pay attention to the lessons and not try to work around them rather than learn from them.

Yes sort of what happen to me. I was talking to my husband and eating and not paying attention. Lesson learned!
The first time I had this issue, it was also with salmon! It had been cooked too dry, which was bad times.

Funny! It was soft and moist, but maybe texture wise it didn't agree. I made sure to get a piece from the middle too. Salmon is one of my favorite food and I just totally wasn't paying attention.
Dont beat yourself up about it x
I did it at one month out - ordered out at a bar whilst on holiday - ate one mouthful too much and just felt disgusting. Wandering around the supermarket so uncomfortable and burping. I was ill when we got back to the hotel. Lesson learnt and I have never done it again. Its all part of adjusting to your new tool - be kind to yourself
Thanks for that. I will definitely be more careful in the future. That was a terrible feeling.
Shannon, I experienced the same thing tonight, but it was intense stomach cramping instead of vomiting. I was very upset because of a family member being in hospital, and I lapsed into zombie-like eating and didn't chew the 3 oz of chicken. Live and learn. Even 4.5 months out, it felt terrible! I'm kind of having an aversion to the way heavier proteins feel on my stomach. I'd rather eat the lighter things and drink protein shakes so I feel satisfied but not gross. I used to love tuna and salmon, but now the smell makes me nauseous.
"Zombie like", is an excellent way of putting it!!! I noticed nothing tastes super good anymore. My favorite foods are just like okay. I've developed a few aversions myself, and I get sick of thing very quickly. Tuna is one as well!

We can read, discuss, and contemplate the things we need to do, but nothing drives a lesson home like hard experience. Been there, done that, won't forget again either.
