Fingers crossed for you today!

I always get a little anxious when meeting/leaving new people, since I never know what they're going to do. And I'm realizing that I tend to just let other people's preferences lead me.

Good morning! My surgery is in 22 hours! I am SO excited and happy that the day is finally here.

Clear liquids...honestly, easier than I thought. I've been sipping chicken bone broth (7g protein) for two days and it keeps the hunger pains away pretty well. Those tropical sugar-free popsicles help, too! :-)

I did something bad last night....I started searching for vsg regrets. What a mistake. One lady said that she can only eat a couple tablespoons 2 years out. Wow, that really scares me. A lot. It does not seem to be common, however! Another lady talked about all her gallbladder issues (but he's grabbing mine while he's in there, he said, haha!) But, I'm going to trust my surgeon and myself that I've made the best decision. I've lost 30 pounds in 3 weeks, and I am feeling pretty motivated!

QOTD: I'm pretty odd, here. I hug the crap out of my family. My 3-year-old nephew and I probably hugged about 10 times last night. I hugged my wife at least 4 times before bed. I hugged my sister when I saw her at work, lol. However, I don't want other people to hug me and unless someone is crying, it's doubtful that I will offer a hug.

B: Sugar-free jello and decaf coffee

L: Clear Soup (beef broth and chicken bone broth simmered with onions, STRAINED)

D: Clear Soup and sugar-free popsicle

S: Premier CLEAR Protein drink

Nothing after midnight! :-) I'm going to drink a glass of water at 10PM but I know I'm going to be thirsty on the drive in the morning! I know I won't be this excited tomorrow around this time (haha!) but it's finally hereeeeee!

I'm a hugger when it comes to family and friends but i don't like when random people hug me lol just makes me uncomfortable.

M1 premier protein

M2 tuna with low fat mayo

Snack string cheese

M3 leftover ricotta bake

This puréed phase is killing me hoping today goes a little better than yesterday as yesterday i felt really hungry most of the day and not satisfied with any meals.Today I'm going to try to walk a little more for sum exercise

When I was on purees, I still had to have 2-3 protein shakes each day to make my protein goal. And, of course, drink more because of the switch from liquids to purees. So make sure you're getting in enough protein (60+ grams) and liquids (64+ ounces)!

I have had a clusterfuck of a morning. But things are finally calm enough that I can internet for a little bit.

QOTD: I'm a... "I don't know what the heck to do" type of person. I tend to default to hugs with people I know/like. I'll happily handshake or fist bump. I'll stand there and smile/wave awkwardly or nod. I offer hugs to people I know/like - I feel bad that I forced a hug on you! I do try to always ask first if I've not interacted with the person IRL before, "are you a hugger?" My favorite hug story was going to hug a really good friend when we met IRL for the first time. We'd known each other for YEARS online, but were finally at an event together. I went to hug her and she took a step back, waved her hands frantically, and said, "No no no, Finns don't do that!!" Her expression of fear was almost comical. Being in a hobby with people from all over the world made me a lot more tolerant of greeting styles - although I still don't get the kissy cheek thing. And I loathe when Americans do the kissy cheek thing. If a Euro does it, I can deal. But it grosses me out from Americans.

Anyway.... I default to hugs with people I know/like, and handshakes with those who offer or who I don't know/like. With kids I always ask what they want and give them options for bodily autonomy reasons. Before I hug someone I haven't hugged before, I ask if they're a hugger. I think that sums it up. :)

1: protein shake (which I just finished at noon... I've been working on it since 9am but it's been a ridiculous morning)
2: deli chicken and guac, since I've got one guac container left (the little single serving ones)
3: meatloaf (from the freezer - cooked and frozen prior to surgery), brazilian cheese bite things (I'll eat one, the rest are for the guys)
4: second protein shake if I have time

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: nope!

Don't feel bad! I'm used to just doing it now and I like people plenty and never want to offend someone!

Funny story related to the kiss cheek thing. My group partner right now is French. He was following me up to my office so we could work on our project and we step into the elevator with a student who is pushing a cart of pastries from the coffee shop, closing up for the day. He steps towards her and I seriously thought he was going to full-on kiss her on the mouth. Then kissed her cheeks. She obviously used to and it reacted naturally. Here we are the three of us crammed in an elevator with a bagel cart and I thought they were going to make out!
