Help! One week post op
I am also one week out today. I was told in the hospital to do myself a favor and don't get on the scale until my two week checkup. Of course , I was curious and got on the scale and like you had lost only a pound. We are still really short time post op and recovering. Don't give that scale a second thought;I'm not going to!! We're following our plans and doing what we were told to do, so it will happen when it happens. Please keep us posted. How is your tummy feeling?

Still sore, especially the navel ! But not bad. I don't have to wear the binder anymore and all the incisions look great except the navel one. It is still bruised and ugly looking, lol! I wore jeans for the first time yesterday and that was just enough pressure to hold everything in place and felt pretty good. I still get fatigued really quickly, but fortunately am retired and can recover without worrying about getting back to work. My volunteer job at the animal rescue is being covered for me for as long as I need, so it's all good! Keep sipping and doing your protein. We can definitely do this!!
HHugs,

Water retention and swelling make it impossible to get an accurate weight so soon after surgery. Try checking in again in a week.

You've probably lost more than a pound because you were pumped full with fluids during surgery and had to lose -that- weight before you could lose actual weight. Most of us come out from surgery weighing 5-10 pounds more than we did when we went in from surgery.
Stick to your plan. Hydration is your number one job right now.

Everyone has swelling after surgery so it masks any weight loss. Give it time and just keep on keeping on. I actually gained even though I wasn't eating anything.
