I am so excited to be having surgery on Monday. I was scheduled to have surgery on September 18th but a car accident on the way to the hospital broke my leg so I had a bit of a bump in the road. Are there any suggestions as to what I should pack for the hospital stay?

Thanks

Clothes to go home, a bar of soap to wash your face, and tooth brush/toothpaste, chapstick, and deodorant. I also took some adidas slides, or slippers would work too (so you do have to bend).

Hospital provides toiletries, but I like my stuff.

Wishing you the very best outcome!! See you on the losers bench soon!

I wore a loose, comfy dress to surgery, panties, and a bra. I wore the dress home.

I took chapstick and used it.

I took my kindle, charging cables for it and my phone, and my phone. I only used my phone and the cable for it.

And make sure to have pillows to cushion your tummy for the ride home!

Everything else will be provided by the hospital. :)

The things I brought that I actually used:

  • a pair of loose pajama pants (to pull on when they make you walk the halls)
  • a hairbrush (I had super long hair so their lil comb wasn't going to work)
  • chap stick
  • biotene mousturizing mouthwash (I was so happy I had that. The spray didn't help me, but the mouthwash brought about so much relief!)
  • Small pillow for the car ride home

Good luck and I hope things go MUCH better for you this time around.

I just had my surgery Monday and came home yesterday afternoon. I took a robe, a book, my nook reader, my phone and charger, chapstick, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a loose pair if pj bottoms for walking the halls. The only things I used were the phone, chapstick, toothbrush, toothpaste, and the pj bottoms. University of Michigan hospital gave me thick non slip socks . I thought I would feel like reading or looking at the OH posts, but nope; all I wanted was to rest. Hope your surgery goes as well as mine. Sore, but all manageable, like the others have said.

Consider this as 3 nights hotel stay and pack your belongs. Comfy clothes and slipper would be good. Get your books or tablet etc. to spend free time. If they dont provide towel, shampoo etc get it with you. Good luck :)
