Hello all. My name is Jessica. I am 35, I have been with my husband for nearly 15 years and we have a daughter & son who are both in elementary school. I am a social worker (LMSW) and I work with adults & teens who are incarcerated running life skills and sexual trauma groups.

I have been overweight my whole life and MO my entire adulthood. Attempted every diet known to man. Suffered serious problems with gallbladder and pancreas and developed type 2 diabetes soon after. I was VERY (very, very) reluctant to pursue surgery, but lots of research revealed what you guys already know - it is the option most likely to help me get the results I am aiming for so I can improve my health.

I had VSG a month ago and I am definitely still adjusting. It is not an easy time to say the least. Although I have not been posting, reading this forum has been very helpful on the days when I want to throw a pity party. So thank you all.

I am happy to share my first NSV: My wedding set fits for the first time in 6 years. I shed a tear when I slid it on.

Jess

Welcome, Jess! I really turned a corner mood-wise about 6 weeks post VSG. After that, the pity party feelings you describe faded away for me. Hope yours do soon!

Welcome! Congrats on your surgery and your adjustment! And that's a great NSV :)

Just be careful wearing it, because you might get to the point where you shake your hand too hard and it flies off!!

Thank you!! It is still pretty snug, but I will keep that in mind when I have dropped a few more!
