Good Morning! We ended up with nearly 6" of snow between Sunday and yesterday. I'm hoping that it being 50 degrees today will mean most of it goes, but I actually think we got too much to melt all of it! It's way too early in the year for that

QOTD: When do you start your Christmas shopping? Are you an 'all year round' type or a last minute shopper? I tend to start it officially on Black Friday. Even though I only shop online. Then I try to shop fast and furious through the 1st-2nd week of December and then be DONE.

Happy Tuesday! DH and I are in Charleston. Wonderful city so far (arrived yesterday and are here until tomorrow morning). We had the best BBQ I've ever had last night. DH and I split a meal and still only ate 2/3rds of it!

QOTD: When my kids were young and there was a lot of Christmas shopping to do I would start right after Thanksgiving (but NEVER on Black Friday). I still sort of do that, but I don't get much now (they are all adults). I do essentially all of it online so I do have to be done by the week before. Except for stocking stuffers (we still do one for the kids) - those get done in the last week.

1 year, 8 months post-op (maintenance).

B: They have ham and cheese croissants for breakfast - can I eat just the insides and skip the remainder??? If I do, I can supplement with cottage cheese (have some in the cooler)

L: tuna fish, pickles and cottage cheese

D: ? (at a restaurant).

S: protein chips maybe - I'm kind of constipated from traveling so I may skip snacks

Good morning! At the airport waiting for my flight. Woo, that alarm clock went off early this am...

QOTD: I have a lot of anxiety around gift giving. I'm always sure I pick the wrong thing. Last year I ended up doing really well, so of course this year I'm sure it can't live up to last year. All the anxiety and mental spinning means I end up last minute shopping!

B - protein shake

L - ? Traveling

D - ? Fish or something? At Dad's house

Good morning all! Yesterday, we had his folks over for a crab boil. It went wonderfully. I managed to eat one crab, a few claws, a single shrimp and a smidge of beef kielbasa. I sent the rest of the low country boil home with them (mostly corn and potatoes left). The crabs I kept and will pick and have crab cakes (low carb style) later in the week. The crab was so good and I ate the crab without butter. I tasted each bite and enjoyed the flavor of the crab. Since being sleeved, I have made an effort to actually taste each bite. It has been rewarding.

Today we are going to my husband's store and restocking and doing some renovation so he will be ready for Black Friday. Lots of stretching and moving so I'm counting that as my exercise today.

QOTD: All prior Christmas's have been shop at the last minute. This year with all the changes, and having a different outlook on things, my shopping is done, my packages are wrapped and I'm ready for Christmas. Wow... that has never happened before.

M1: Lentil pasta and half a chicken stick

M2: Almond Butter and yogurt

M3: Jerky

M4: Insides of a burger?

M5: TBD, going to be a long day

S: I'm bringing various snacks (dried edemame, almonds, protes, kays and jerky) We'll see what appeals if anything, depending on what else I eat today).

E: Not much today outside of working on the shop.

Water and vits on track.

Your crab boil sounds wonderful! What kind of store does your husband have?

The crab boil was fun. It took me almost an hour to pick enough crab meat for me to be full. I finished when everyone else did (they were eating potatoes, corn, sausage, and crabs). It was a nice change to be done when everyone else was, (not before).

My husband owns a body jewelry store that is open on the weekends. It is a fully enclosed air conditioned booth at the local flea market so the overhead is low. The rest of the week, he is a high end network engineer. He loves talking with people so the store is actually his get away from everything. And he does really well too. He only sells high quality surgical stainless steel body jewelry and has the best selection in all of Jacksonville. His favorite saying is "We can fill all your holes from your nose to your toes!". It is fun to watch his transformation on Saturday morning as he puts in an industrial bar and 5 large gauge CBR's in the same ear. He then dons a goth t-shirt, puts on his biker jacket, biker rings (on all his fingers), his leather arm bracelet and then combs his beard to a point and off he goes. He's my bad boy on the weekend.

QOTD - not sure how to answer so I will pass

M1- coffee with Slimfast Advanced Nutrition shake

M2- quest bar

M3- probably leftovers... half mashed sweet potatoes, half mashed loaded potatoes I made the family and a bit of shredded beef with cream of soup sauce on top. I ended up eating it last night and it felt really indulgent, lol. I eat out of tiny bowls and the entire serving is always smaller than the palm of my hand so I don't beat myself up about eating what I like

That is an awesome attitude. I make good choices 98% of the time, but when I want a little something, I have just that. A little something. One or two cheez-its. A tiny taste of baklava (and I mean tiny... I usually measure it in single digit grams). It allows me to feel indulgent without blowing my macros. And I still make sure I get my protein and keep the carbs extremely low. I believe there is a balance that has to be struck for us to be able to make those wise choices on a regular basis.
