Good Morning! Welcome to Thanksgiving week. I can't believe that it's already so far into November. We got about 3" of snow yesterday, so that will be super fun to clean off my car this morning. Early snow is always so packy and wet

QOTD: What is your fondest childhood memory/tradition of the holidays? I don't really have one of Thanksgiving as it's never been a focus for my family. But, my favorite thing about Christmas was always Christmas Eve at my paternal grandparent's house. The whole family would come together and the snacks were always the same. There was such an air of excitement from the kids who were all anticipating Santa coming that night. My grandmother passed away when I was 13, and for awhile that tradition stopped. Now I do have everyone over to my house and I make the same snacks!

Good morning all! Today is our crab boil. We are having the in-laws and other misc family over for the in-laws wedding anniversary so we are steaming 3 dozen crabs and I'm doing a low country boil. As I've written over the last several days, the cleaning and dusting is going full bore. I'm so proud of my house and proud of the weight I've lost (this is the first time they will have seen me since the surgery). I'm actually excited to have them over today (which is unusual).

QOTD: My most fond memory of Thanksgiving and Christmas revolves around food. Thanksgiving, we always used to have nuts and chips on the coffee table and we would watch the Macy's Parade. I wonder how watching the parade this year will be without all the snacks? Christmas was always a duck and a turkey and all the fixings. Family fights were common on the holidays, so I don't miss that at all and now as an adult, I do not tolerate angst on the holidays. Act out and you go home.

M1: Almond Butter and yogurt

M2: Mushroom/Venison/Cheese eggbeater omelet

M3: Leftover Progresso light Italian meatball soup (no pasta) with protein powder

M4: Chicken and vegs

M5: Blue crab and shrimp from the low country boil (possibly a bite of corn)

S: Something no/low carb if hungry. (Jerky or nuts depending on what else I eat today).

E: Cleaning, cooking for crab dinner tonight.

Water and vits on track. Water was extra good yesterday. I probably got in about 80 ounces. Yay me!

I don't know if you've had corn yet, but I had my first try when I was 6-7 months out and it hurt like hell! So, be warned!

Thank you for the warning. I have not had any problems with anything except tomato soup which just made me queasy (go figure) but I'd not tried corn yet. On second thought I believe I will pass this evening... too many new foods in one evening (I've had shrimp but not crab yet).

Good morning from Fredericksburg VA! We drove here from Massachusetts yesterday on our way to Florida. Luckily there is no snow here this early, just a lot of wind yesterday. Today we drive to Charleston SC and stay for 2 nights.

QOTD: My favorite memory was setting up a snack for Santa and his reindeer when we were all young (3 children). We always left a cookie and eggnog for Santa and a carrot for the reindeer. DH and I continued that tradition with our own kids. Another one was that each child was allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve. We didn't continue this with our kids as our tradition with them was to go to a close friends house for Christmas Eve so by the time we were home it was time to put out the Santa snacks and go to bed.

1 year, 8 months post-op (maintenance).

B: probably scrambled eggs (motel breakfast)

L: tuna fish, pickles and cottage cheese

D: ? (In Charleston)

S: cheese sticks or almonds

Good morning all. Still working on being on plan. Slowly making a little headway. 0.1 down this week is better than 0.1 up.

QOTD: I grew up JW untl 7, and we never took on holidays after leaving, so our holidays and christmas' were empty movies while everyone else opened presents. We got to see the first Star Wars in a nearly empty theater 40 years ago. This year, I bought tickets for us to the first showing!

AM: SF white chocolate hazelnut mocha with Fairlife

B: HB Egg

L: Chicken, cottage, hummus

S: Strawberry PP

D: Chicken, cottage cheese & Hummus

Going to see Ragnarock!

Good morning! This weekend was ridiculously busy. I didn't do as well as I would have liked with my meals. I tracked, but I didn't plan ahead. I stayed under my calorie goal, but things felt chaotic.

QOTD - my favorite tradition is our Christmas Eve fondue. As kids, we would go to Mass and then have a hot oil fondue with shrimp and beef. We still go to my parent's house for it, if my mom isn't working. I'm glad it's at least one tradition that is low carb.

B - latte, cottage cheese

L - shrimp

S - half a protein bar

D - chicken curry

E - arms

Water and vitamins on track

Us too, you are the only person I know besides my family that does fondue!! We do it every Christmas Eve using peanut oil. We fondue steak, mushrooms, shrimp and breaded cauliflower. A few years back we started using tempura batter for the shrimp. Oyster stew is always the first course, then fondue for the rest of the evening:-)
