Whatcha Eating Today VSGers Saturday 11/18/17
Morning! Today I'm supposed to run a 5k. We'll see how the weather is. It's currently 26 with a high of 41 and it's supposed to rain/snow. But, at least there's no wind to contend with! I really have no idea how to dress for running in such weather, given that so far most of my cold weather running has been on the treadmill.
QOTD: What's your favorite physical characteristic of yourself? Come on! Don't cop out and say you aren't sure or can't say. Love yourself! For years I would have said my smile because I have nice straight white teeth. My mother worked in an orthodontist's office for years and I received free braces. My teeth were never bad, but they perfected them! Now I'd say it's my collar bones. I have supermodel collarbones and I'm all about the boat neck shirts!
10 months post-op/Maintenance/131.9lbs
M1: Coffee, PP, Miralax, HC
M2: Sausage, Egg & Cheese
M3: Chili (they are serving this after the 5k, I believe)
M4-M5: TBD, I'm going out with a friend. Probably not my typical yogurt evening snack.
S: Protein Bar if I need it
E: Running!

Good luck on the 5K! A temperature of 40 used to be my favorite running weather (I sweat a lot). Dress in layers you can tie around your waist (be careful not to overdress).
It is the Saturday before Thanksgiving for those of us in the US. We are finalizing packing to leave for the drive to Florida early tomorrow morning. I will have to go to the store in Florida on Wednesday night to get the things I need to make the dish we are bringing on Thanksgiving. Unless food stores are open Thursday morning? They probably are these days.
QOTD: My favorite physical characteristic is probably my hair. As long as I keep it short I have really good hair (and at 62.5 years it still has most of its color). Thank goodness I didn't lose it post-op!
1 year, 8 months post-op (maintenance).
B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: tuna fish, pickles and cottage cheese
D: ? Maybe shrimp?
S: yogurt

You're lucky to have not have lost hair! I had gorgeous thick hair. It's not thin, by any means, no but it has much less volume than it did.
My father is in his late 50's and still has his natural color with only a small amount of gray. I'm hoping that bodes well for my color. On the same token, he has a brother that went gray at 18. I am going on 35 and haven't found a gray hair yet. Jon is 33 and has some gray in his bread already. His grandmother had snow white hair starting in her 40's!

My husband went gray in his early 50's and has completely white hair now, but his mother didn't go fully gray until 90 (and was never white). His sister seems to be following in her mother's pattern as she is still mostly dark at 67. My mother still had predominantly dark hair when she died at 86. I appear to be following her pattern (which I had hoped would be the case).

Happy Saturday VSG'ers! Busy day today. Going to have the in-laws over for steamed crabs on Sunday and then hosting TG next week. So cleaning, straightening and shopping is the order of the day!
Good luck on the run Erin. Liz, most food stores in FL are open on Turkey Day morning, but close by 11 or so. I think Wallyworld is open all day now.
QOTD: My best feature is my smile. People have always told me that when I smile it shows completely including my eyes. The ladies at church always told me they missed my smile when I wasn't there on a Sunday.
M1: Almond Butter and ½ ounce of corned beef
M2: Egg Beaters and smoked salmon
M3: Leftover Progresso light Italian meatball soup sans pasta (will pick them out) with zoodles
M4: Chicken and zoodles
M5: Shrimp
S: Something no/low carb if hungry. Jerky?
E: Cleaning, organizing and shopping for Thanksgiving.
Water and vits on track.

QOTD: My forearms. They are a feature that I can see. They've always looked muscular so they make me feel manly. I really like seeing my veins and the muscle definition after losing weight.
B: A McDonald's morning mac without the muffin
L: probably Mexican food, I'm taking my sweetie out for lunch.
D: my sweetie and I will be by ourselves tonight so a dinner out and a movie. Not sure where though.
Hello everyone,
QOTD: I think my favorite feature is my smile also. The librarians used to call me dimples when I was a kid. Looking forward to them being more prominent again.
I'm 2 days post op today, so all meals are protein shake (Banana Premier Protein to start) then water.
E just walking around the house for now.

Ugh. I swear that today is the day I'm actually going to follow through. I'm going to post here quickly and then get to working on a novel length post for the plastic surgery forum. So if you want to read about how things are going with me, look for that post to appear sometime in the next 4 hours.
Learning how to dress for running has been a really huge challenge for me. This is a super awesome tool, even if it's not always perfect -- https://www.runnersworld.com/what-to-wear -- it at least gives you a good idea of where to start! However, for races which tend to require you to be there much earlier than you're actually going to run and therefore mean you're a lot colder (since it's earlier and you're not moving), I add in a cheapo pair of sweatpants and a cheapo hoodie. I wear them until the race start and then just discard them on the side of the road. (This sounds horrible and littery, but it's a totally normal race thing, the discarded clothing is collected and donated, so it's actually pretty awesome. Sometimes I see people do this with long fuzzy bathrobes. Looks comfy, but not totally my thing to do. Just make sure you can pull whatever pants you're wearing for the pre-race off over your shoes.)
QOTD: At this moment in time, this is a hard question to answer since my body is all ****** up! Three weeks ago I probably would have said my collar bones, my hip bones, and my rocking boobs. :)
1: protein shake
2: protein shake
3: protein shake or, if I feel like actually eating, some beef curry
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: nope!

Good morning everyone!
The high tea yesterday was so nice! The young lady that runs the visitor's center is from Germany. She has a collection of hats and tea china to admire! She made German desserts, tea sandwiches, quiche and scones. She even wore the most adorable vintage black dress and had her hair styled to go along with it. I really admire people with her kind of passion and energy, it's infectious!
QOTD-I was going to wimp out on this question, but I will just answer and move on:-) I will say my eyes.
B-Yogurt(plain, full fat) with 2tsp sf lemon pudding mix and pumpkin seeds
L-PP shake
S-string cheese, 1/2 small apple and chai tea
D-tbd(going grocery shopping)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!
