Egg drop soup!!!
I had my 1st post-op follow up. Surgeon says I'm doing great. Down 15 lbs since the 7th. NUT says I can add EGG DROP SOUP to my list of liquids starting Tuesday next week (3rd week out). I'm like totally stoked. I guess this is what I'll be having for thanksgiving. Sure beats broth! Just thought I'd share in the excitement.
Egg Drop Soup is one of my favorite go-to's. Low cal, high protein, low carb and oh soooo yummy.

Thanks so much! My surgeon is known to be very conservative. I think he is trying to break my spirit...lol. This is not only physically challenging but it's mentally taxing. I've heard haters say this is the easy way out. Well they sure haven't experienced a 6 week liquid diet first hand (3 weeks pre op, 3 weeks post op). This has been absolutely rough.
I didn't have the sleeve, but my Docs diet progression used to be fairly similar, but now he has sleeve patients on 3-week liquids post op as well.

Congrats on that loss!!!! You know, I don't understand people hating on a WLS choice. I can't even wrap my mind around that concept at all. We're all fighting the same battle, even if our weapons are different. I ran across some hater posts tonight right before I joined here. Really depressed me.
You did have a lot of liquid diet days! Wow. I only had 6 days prior with the 7th day being clear liquid (day before surgery), then it was 5 days clear liquid post-op. I start the soft foods on Thanksgiving Day (great timing lol). I also lost 15lbs in 1 wk after surgery. Feels awesome, doesn't it? :D
I feel amazing in that regard! The liquid diet has been killer though.
When I finally started opening up about my surgery I got a few smug remarks, but most people were supportive. I try not to let those types get to me.
Best of luck,
I've never had egg drop soup in my life. I may have to try it. I start soft foods on Thanksgiving Day, so not sure what to do about that yet. Are you making the soup yourself?
I have made it before several times. It's very simple. You can also get it from any Chinese restaurant. Just an FYI, it does not freeze well.
