Morning VSGers! Today is 10 months post op for me. It's 25 degrees outside and I think it snowed. I have no desire to look or consider it. I'm running a Hobble Gobble tomorrow and I'm going to FREEZE! Last night I bought 7 pairs of dress pants for $15 from a local garage sale site. This is a huge score since I've been hobbling along with two pairs that I don't care for the fit of!

QOTD: What is (or was) your favorite Thanksgiving food? This will be my first TG since surgery and I'm kind of dreading it. I figure I'll end up eating 3oz of turkey and a bite or two of squash. Then I'll have myself a 1/2" sliver of pumpkin pie. My favorite is my father's pecan pie, but I can not imagine consuming that kind of sugar even in the tiniest sliver. I've made it and know how much corn syrup is required!

Good morning! What is a "Hobble Gobble"? A race?

This is my second Thanksgiving since surgery. I didn't find it too difficult last year because I ate enough turkey to feel full and just bites of other things. We didn't have a lot of selections because we flew to Florida on Thanksgiving Day last year.

Serious packing is on the agenda today as we are leaving early Sunday for the drive to Florida.

QOTD: One of my favorite Thanksgiving items is stuffing, but only the way my husband used to make it. Since he doesn't cook anymore, that takes care of the stuffing issue! Another favorite is a squash casserole we have made for years (and will offer to bring to our friends this year). Though there is sugar in it, it isn't the worst and I'm happy with just a bite or two now.

Good morning! I hit onederland today! I tried to take a picture, but the weight of the phone put me back over 200, and my wife was still sleeping so she couldn't help.

QOTD - my favorite Thanksgiving food was dinner rolls dipped in gravy. I haven't been able to do this in a long time, since I've been gluten free for close to a decade. None of the gf rolls were very good. I don't remember eating this during the meal, but it was my go-to snack for days afterward. Now my favorite is roasted root vegetables- particularly the beets.

Congratulations on onederland!

My DD is a roll eater - she will consume many of them with butter. She is approaching WLS eligible weight and doesn't seem to be able to rein it in, but she is an adult and knows what to do. I worry about her.

Today is a no carb day. Yesterday, we were out and I ended up at Krystals due to a scheduling conflict and the fact that I was starving (forgot my jerky). I had one cheese krystal sans bun, but also ate 3 little scrawny fried breaded wings (mega carbs). So today, no carbs from anything other than non-starchy vegs.

QOTD: My favorite food of TG used to be turkey skin. Now I believe it is going to be ham. We'll see.

M1: Lollipop Chicken

M2: Shrimp

M3: Leftover Progresso light Italian meatball soup sans pasta (will pick them out) with zoodles

M4: Leftover venison with zoodles

M5: Shrimp

S: Something no/low carb if hungry.
