Whacha Eating Today VSGers? Wednesday 11/15/17
Good morning, VSGers! I'm waiting on my flight at the Chattanooga airport currently. It's been a great experience staying here. I'm always amazed at how polite people are in the south and how much customer service matters. I always just assumed that TSA were trained to be jerks. Color me surprised!
QOTD: We haven't done this in awhile, so I'll ask - what are you reading? I just finished Those Girls by Chevy Stevens (very quick easy read, I recommend it as an airport book for sure). I'm now reading One Breath Away by Heather Gudenkauf. Super good so far.

Happy Wednesday! I am so excited. I got a sous vide machine! I made venison tenderloin last night and a soft boiled egg this morning. Perfect for one person meals. Since the surgery, I have been on a quest for perfectly cooked meat. Quantity used to be my concern, now it is quality. Before I would fry everything, now I wanted tender small nuggets of pure protein. Enter a sous vide! Cook and a quick sear and voila! Perfect meat.
QOTD: I usually have 4 or 5 books started at any one time. Usually one romance novel, a horror novel, a sci-fi novel and one "serious" book. My current serious book is Atlas Shrugged.
M1: Soft boiled (sous vide) egg and a salmon pinwheel
M2: egg salad with LF mayo
M3: left over cod, green beans, kelp noodles, cabbage
M4: venison with mashed cauliflower
M5: TBD with a scoop of protein powder
S: Cheese or Yogurt
E: Beginning some cardio videos today. We'll see how it goes.
Water and vits on track

Good morning! I've been so close to "onederland" for several days. I was hoping today would be the day, but the scale was up slightly. Totally normal but frustrating nonetheless.
QOTD - one of the biggest things I miss from before having a kid is time to read. My goal for the summer was to re-read all of P D James' books in chronological order. Well, it's November and I have six left. I'm in the middle of "A Certain Justice". I also just started reading a book called "Refuse to Choose!". It's for people the author calls scanners - people who have a myriad of interests and are viewed as a bit scattered brained.
B - latte, cottage cheese
L - leftover grilled octopus
S - protein shake
D - kielbasa and sauerkraut
E - arm day

Good morning and happy Wednesday! Today is DH?s actual birthday so the celebrations which started Saturday can be done after today (and the goodies will stop coming). We stop in Charleston SC for an extra night on the way to Florida next week so hopefully we will experience that southern politeness too.
QOTD: I am reading a totally mindless book by Edna Hilderbrand. I needed something like that during my last few work weeks. The setting is in Nantucket which we love to visit so I like to hear about the locations in her books.

Hi All,
I'm back from South America. We had an excellent trip. I couldn't believe how many animals we saw in the Galapagos. The wildlife is protected there, and there are so many animals that you have to be careful not to trip on them. It was fantastic. Plus the tour kept us really busy so there was no time to think about snacking. I only gained about 2 pounds - which is really good for me for 3 weeks of traveling!
So now back to plan. I still want to lose another 5 pounds to lose the weight I gained when I had the broken arm.
Breakfast - salmon
lunch - crack slaw
dinner - cheeseburger pie
snack - chicken and broccoli
I made egg roll bowls yesterday -yum and I'm making chicken and broccoli and orange flavored chicken today. I'll be set for food for a while.
best wishes,
Carol
