Whatcha Eating Today VSGers Saturday 11/11/17
on 11/11/17 9:27 am
Hello and happy Saturday! I actually slept until 8:15. Heaven! I've been waking up around 4:30 since the time change for an unknown reason, so this was an awesome treat.
I've upped my calories to around 1200 for maintenance so far. I'm finding it surprisingly easy. We'll see where I end up!
QOTD: I could throw a rock and hit about 8 grocery stores from my house, but I stick to my nice Ralphs (Kroger family). It's less than a mile, inside my neighborhood, and I can walk there. There is a Trader Joes next door but, gasp, I've never been a fan.
B - coffee and yogurt
L - BBQ pork/brisket
D - BBQ pork/brisket, coleslaw, beans
S - roasted broad beans, string cheese
Good morning!
The snow is gone, just like that! It warmed to almost 50 degrees, then poof, it was gone:-) Even saw the sun yesterday for awhile. Taking my dog for a hike at an equestrian park that also has a lot of trails up into the hillside. It will be muddy, but fun.
Tonight i****efisk night! Every November since I can remember we go to a local Lutheran church for Lutefisk dinner and lots and lots of Lefsa. I will stick to the meatballs, ham, mashed acorn squash and a bite or two of Lutefisk. All these years and I still can't get past the texture.
QOTD-We do not have Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. The closest Trader Joes is about 5 hours away! We do have a lot of choices. Mostly Super 1, Smith's(Kroger) and Rosaures(which is my favorite).
B-Yogurt w/chia, flax and slivered almonds
L-small snack, 1/2 apple
D-Early Lutefisk dinner!
E-Hike with dog
Have a great weekend!

Have you ever seen the movie The Ref? It's about a burglar who takes a dysfunctional family hostage on Christmas Eve and then gets driven crazy by them. When the extended family arrives, he makes them pretend like nothing is wrong, so they go ahead with this Scandinavian Christmas dinner with Lutefisk and dripping candle wreath hats. One of my favorite irreverent Christmas movies!
Happy Saturday, everyone! And a very Happy Veteran's Day to all the vets and active duty military...God Bless you all!
Tons of pre-surgery prep to do this weekend to get the house ready for when I get back home. I was going to be coming straight home when I'm released, but my baby sister narc'd on me to my surgeon that I live alone, and he said I had to stay with someone for at least a couple of nights, so bunking with one of my best friends for a couple nights. I'd rather be at home alone, but seems I got outvoted. Goes to show if you have a close family and good friends, you are never too old to be bossed around hahahaha
QOTD: We have Walmart, Kroger, Aldi, and Price Chopper in my little town. I do the majority of my shopping at Aldi, except for a couple of things that I can only get at Hellmart...errr, I mean Walmart. I love the produce at Kroger and Price Chopper, but I prefer the lower prices elsewhere so I generally only go to them if I can't find something at Aldi or Hellmart.
B: Dannon L&F 80 vanilla yogurt w/natural peanut butter and Fiber One, coffee w/H&H and xylitol
L: Cello Whisps cheddar crisps
D: Leftover top sirloin from the Brazillian Grill lunch the other day, and cauliflower rice w/mushrooms, aspargus, garlic, parmesan and butter.
Water and vites on track
Eating is weird at the moment.
I had three protein shakes, a quest birthday cake bar (aka unicorn poop), and a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. Yum.
Wegmans. Some day I hope I live near one.
