Whatcha eating today VSGers? Thursday 11/9/2017
Good morning all! I'm up early due to medication and decided to attempt to post.
Recovery is.. recovery. It's challenging but already things are starting to get a little easier. Today, when I'm awake for real, I hope to get some good reading time in. Or Project Runway.
Here is a link to the pic my surgeon posted of my surgery - https://www.instagram.com/p/BbPDB0snHIN/
QOTD: what is something you've added to your post-WLS life that you hadn't considered prior? For me, I'd say going back to college. I went right after high school and dropped out after 2 years since it wasn't the right place for me to be. I'm now about 1/3 of the way into my third year and it's an amazing experience.
1: protein shake
2: protein shake (need additional protein post-op)
3: leftover chicken pho
4: maybe something else depending on what the guys make/get. (I fully stocked the stand freezer pre-op, so they have lots of choices.)
liquids and vites: haven't started vites yet due to too many other meds, lots and lots of liquid though
exercise: just shambling to the bathroom and back again. It's very hard work. :/

Good morning! Glad to hear things are a little easier, Gwen. I aced my test yesterday. It was an occupational competency assessment in horticulture - and it took two and a half hours. The only thing I did wrong was switching white pine and scotch pine. This means that I should be moving up a step on the pay scale to Master's equivalency.
QOTD - I'm still a bit early out for this question. I decided that I need to take some sort of lessons next summer. I'm researching both sailing and horseback riding. Neither of them are something I would have been physically comfortable doing at 258 lb (and I would have been concerned about the horse).
B - latte, cottage cheese
L - shrimp
S - protein shake
D - leftover Osso Bucco
E - arm day
Water and vitamins on track

Thanks for starting this Gwen! I had volunteered, but then got up later than usual because I slept really well. It sounds like you are doing well and your legs look fantastic!
QOTD: I guess pursuing PS not only to get rid of redundant skin, but now to look younger (i.e. eyelid surgery next month). I NEVER would have considered it previously.
1 year, 7 months post-op (maintenance). 2 work days to retirement (11/13) - 4 hours today and 3 hours tomorrow.
B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Ham and cheese

Chinese Teriyaki Chicken Stick, no skin, baked not fried. I have a chinese take out place that makes them from scratch and since prior to WLS I probably put all of their kids through college, she will tell me exactly what is in each thing she makes so I can log it correctly. Their chicken sticks are actually very low fat, but high in protein and no coating (flour) so they are a winner!
