Thank you, Sepster! Meal plans...hmm. Well, the first 5 months I stuck strictly to my program's guidelines and was on a high protein, low fat, low carb eating plan. At 5 months, I switched to the Ketogenic way of eating, and went high fat, medium protein, very low carb. I have been Keto ever since, and have no plans of changing from this lifestyle. I find I am more satisfied with meals when they include real, healthy fats than I ever was with low-fat eating. I try to keep my macros at an average of 70% of calories from fat, 20-25% from protein, and 5-10% from good carbs. No grains, no starches, only low sugar fruit (berries mostly). I feel great, and how can you not like a way of eating where you get real butter and bacon? lol
Oh, also, during both eating plans, I only ate (and still do), 3 meals a day, no snacking at all. I had to take the focus away from so much food in my life, so sticking to the no snacking rule has been great, because I had to figure out other ways to occupy my time besides eating. I will rarely have a 4th meal if I stay up much later than normal and more than 4 hours has passed since my last meal.
I still do, and always will, track and weigh/measure everything I eat. It's just second nature, and I just don't have a meal where I don't record everything. I feel it's a crucial element in losing and maintaining.
