Morning! We are headed off for some travel tomorrow and I will be flying out super early. It's unlikely I'll be able to start the thread if someone else wants to for tomorrow (11/9). We're headed to Chattanooga, TN so my husband can participate in a motorcycle trials training. Most people aren't familiar with trials riding, as it doesn't seem to be super popular anymore, but it's a cool sport. It's basically slow-paced technical riding on a bike without a seat. You navigate rocks/logs/off-cantor areas without putting your feet down and you're scored. (see picture below).

QOTD: We'll deviate from the thankful theme today. Instead, tell us something cool or interesting about yourself or your family. My father is a private pilot and I've been flying with him in 2-seater planes since I was 3-years old. He currently owns a kit plane and a 1946 Piper Cub that he bought in a charity auction the year before I was born! The kit plane he bought in TX and flew home to NY, including flying at night!

Good morning! I can start the thread tomorrow if you want. I'm always up early!

QOTD: I really had to think about this as I think we are a pretty boring family. There were a fair number of tragi****urrences, but nothing particularly interesting (that I could immediately think of). So how about this: DS is adopted and we have a great relationship with his Birth Mom and her family (opened the adoption when he was 14). He has an ancestor who was a famous ship captain in the 1800's. I just came up with another one: My mother was a part-time ship welder during WWII (while in college) - "Rosie the Riveter"!

1 year, 7 months post-op (maintenance). 3 work days to retirement (11/13) - 2 short days, 1 long one (today).

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Ham and cheese

D: ahi tuna (repeat from yesterday because I swapped in a leftover 1/2 cheeseburger instead)

S: cottage cheese and yogurt

That is pretty cool Liz that your mom was a "Rosie the Riveter!" There is a series on Netflix called Bomb Girls that shows the life and struggles of women working in munition factories during WWII, it's on my "watch list"

Good morning! I had off for Election Day yesterday (Philadelphia schools double as polling places). My parents came to visit, and I tried to prep for today. I have to go straight from work to take the final exam for my vocational teaching certification. It's a practical exam, so it should be easy. I made today's dinner yesterday since I will be home late.

QOTD - my dad was a shrimper in Florida. He wanted to own his own boat, so went into the Navy so he could learn boiler systems. When he was docked in Philly he met my mom on a blind date, and had lived in PA ever since. He still talks about going back to Florida to shrimp :) As a kid, I hated shrimp and it would drive him nuts.

B - latte, cottage cheese

L - shrimp

S - protein shake

D - Osso Bucco

E - not likely

Water and vitamins on track

Off to surgeon's visits today! First up, pre-surg with my hysterectomy guy, then one-year checkup with my VSG surgeon. Up early because I couldn't sleep (not unusual for me) so trying to get some homework finished before I leave for the day.

QOTD: I think I've mentioned it before, but I was an online DJ for about 4 years, started at age 50! Played techno and electro dance tunes, as well as classic rock, 80s, classic soul...lots of stuff. It was a blast and I miss it. I also sing, and have some songs I've recorded on Soundcloud.

L&D: TBD...eating lunch in St Louis, and dinner will probably be leftovers
