Pain
Well I've been sleeved. Surgery was successful and uneventful. I have no nausea or vomiting. The only issue I have is intense pain/soreness, and when I move I'm getting muscle spasms in my belly. I'm waking and moving, but it doesn't help. I thought laparoscopic was fairly pain free. Well of course it is not for me. What were your pain experiencing post op day 1.
Boy were you told wrong! Laparoscopic surgery is still major surgery. They still hacked away your stomach, so yeah, it's supposed to be painful inside. The good news is that the pain subsides within a week or so, and the incisions will be healed in a couple of weeks. Don't try to push yourself beyond walking. Your body needs to rest to continue healing. I never understood the resilience of some people. It took me about six weeks before I started feeling like myself and getting energy again.

I had some pain mainly from the big incision where they removed the stomach. There were some internal stiches there that hurt the worst. However the pain was worth it because the pain only lasts for a little while but the benefits can last forever.
Had VSG on 9/28/15
Lost 161 lbs since surgery, LOST 221 lbs overall so far!!
I've heard the stomach hole hurts, but the doc said mine was from the liver retractor sitting on my ribs. Horrible left sided pain. I'm actually feeling a little better today. I'm so glad this is over.
Slightly better. Still in pain. Passing very little gas which I think is contributing to the discomfort. My mobility and pain has improved, just not as much as I would've liked. Thank you so much for asking.
Congratulations! I've been thinking of you. I'm 3 weeks out. We are all different. I had hardly any abdominal pain. It gets better. It sounds like you are doing really well.
