Feeling sick after multivitamin?

Does anyone else feel sick after taking their multivitamin? For the first week or two it was fine, but for the past few days, I've started feeling sick after I take it. It's just a chewable multivitamin with iron like my doctor told me to take. I take it after I have my breakfast, once there's room for it.

Any advice?

I have to take my multivitamin right before I eat because it makes me sick on an empty stomach.

I recall that Cappy/Carol would break her multi up into yogurt and eat it that way. This might help?

That could help a lot! Thanks, Gwen.

My calcium chewable was causing some nausea. I had to experiment a little. I figured out that I can take it at any time, but I can't have other pills with it.

When I was taking a multivitamin on an empty stomach I'd feel ill not long afterwards. I ended up taking it with breakfast instead & felt way better.

Yeah I get that too, especially if I take them all at one time. But if I space out the vitamins I often forget to take doses later in the day. So I just suffer.

If you fall down you just have to get back up.

I'm in that boat too. I do tend to forget evening/afternoon doses of things. I set an alarm now to help me remember my calcium.

It's totally possible that there's something in the vitamin that's not agreeing with your stomach. Do you get the same problems with other types of vitamins?

At this point, there's no reason to sick to chewables; try something like Centrum (or the generic equivalent) and see how that does.

I went and got some Centrum yesterday. I don't want feeling sick afterward to deter me from taking them.

Fingers crossed that your stomach can tolerate it!

Make sure you take double the regular dose; you'll usually need 2 pills to get to the recommended 200% RDA on all the vitamins and minerals. I take one in the morning, and one at bedtime. :)
