Morning VSGers! I learned today that me + running at 5:30am is not a good combination. I need my coffee before I put in the miles. Oof. I guess it's out of the way for the day. I ended up just walking at a brisk pace with 10 incline because the running just wasn't going to happen. I now have coffee in hand it's a much better day already!

QOTD: What about your family makes you thankful? I am thankful that my husband is unendingly supportive of whatever path I may want to take. I'm thankful that my kids are adventurous and like to travel and that they challenge the status quo every day. What about you?

M2: Scrambled Eggs, Cheese, and Hot Sauce

Good morning! I think when I used to run I would have my coffee first, then have breakfast afterwards. I know I couldn't have food on my stomach while running but I think I needed the caffeine to get going.

QOTD: I'm most thankful for my children. I lost my oldest and only birth child to cancer. My second DD is my stepdaughter who has recently become very close to us which was quite unexpected. My youngest DD and DS came to us through adoption and thank goodness their birth parents made the plans which brought them to us. I give thanks every day for the children *****main (and for having my eldest DD in my life for 32 years).

1 year, 7 months post-op (maintenance). 7 work days to retirement (11/13) - 4 short days and 3 long ones.

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Vegetarian chili

S: yogurt, baked apple

Aw, I loved reading what you wrote about your children. They're all very lucky to have a mom like you! I'm sorry to read about the loss of your eldest.

Good morning! I have a meeting tonight, and the whole day will be very busy.

QOTD - I am thankful that my wife puts up with my harebrained schemes. The phrase "I was thinking . . ." Is generally met with an "uh oh", but she is helpful and supportive (and know when to just get out of the way). I'm thankful for my son in general- it took 10 tries at insemination for my wife to conceive him. We couldn't afford IVF, and 10 was the max that our doctor would let us do. I'm also thankful that he's a funny little boy.

B - latte, cottage cheese

L - leftover chicken and fish (not much left of either so I mixed them)

S - protein shake

D - leftover chicken burger on the way to the meeting

E - it's a leg day. I'm not sure where I'll fit it in

water and vitamins on track

LOL at your QOTD! My family is the same with me. Or, even worse, "So I was in the shower and...." Since my "best" ideas always seem to come to me in the shower.

ThursYAY. I was supposed to see a NUT last night but both my fiancé and I feel like we are coming down with Ebola (not literally, just some super bad cold thing). So I went to the store to get some meds and needed a few things and headed home to rest up.

QOTD: I?m so thankful for my entire family. All the love and support over the years was huge. I?m thankful I met my future husband and his entire family. I?m thankful for my boss giving me a huge opportunity and position for my future.

B yoplait greek 100 protein yogurt

no snack!

L roasted chicken on salad

S if needed: celery and zucchini with hummus

D no idea! Have to pick up fiancé from the dealership so he can get an oil change, and running to a hotel to check out to use for our wedding for guests/after party. It might have to be something quick but there?s some gyro place by the mall I think I saw.

Morning VSGers!

I started my first day of posting what I'm eating and failed the first day!! I only ate what I said I would eat in the morning and that was it.

I think there's a step before that for me. I need to know what works for me in a day and stop "trying this and that" everyday. I want to find what works for me and stick with it. I'm ok eating the same thing everyday until I get my "footing" here.

I find it EXTREMELY helpful to read what you guys eat everyday and I'm going to find a good protein powder that I like. I ordered my shaker bottle and I'm ready.

I'm back on the road again starting next week. 3 day trip and then a 4 day trip. Wish me luck! I am back in the pool after an injury and that's helpful!!

The "Y" doesn't allow food in the POOL!

I would not say you failed. It is good to plan. Your intentions are good. I have the same issue. I plan my day and very rarely does it actually mirror reality. However! I log every single thing that goes in my mouth on MyFitness Pal. It keeps me accountable. If I eat something different or don't eat something, I change it.

It allows me to look back and see what works and what does not. Life gets in the way sometimes and I don't beat myself up if the plan goes awry. I just keep an eye on my macros and tailor my final meal to whatever I'm lacking for the day. (Or if I'm over somewhere, I will cut back or change my final meals.)

Allow yourself the freedom to change things to fit your lifestyle. Some people do better on a strict no changes diet. Some do better by winging it. Find what suites you and then stick with that.

Diane
