Morning, VSGers! I slept in until nearly 7am this morning. I'll be taking the kids to a fall festival at their school today and my oldest has a Halloween party to go to (that we thought was last weekend, but it wasn't!). It's the last day in the forecast that will be nice & warm and I'd love to get a hike in today. I'm sure the kids won't agree though. I have a paper to write, which I plan to do tomorrow before book club. I have an outline completed already.

QOTD: Do you carve pumpkins for Halloween? We have four that have been sitting on our porch. We brought them in last night so they'd be warm enough to carve this weekend. We do it some years and not others.

I'm still trying to figure today out. I have a lot of things I need to do today - including picking up the auto-recliner that a friend is loaning me and that another friend is helping me to transport in her truck. But the first friend is an hour away, which means this process is going to take 2.5-3 hours. I've got to grocery shop since tomorrow is Cookbook Club at my house and I need ingredients to make my recipes. I've also got to finish my big project for HMGT - I finally completed the PPTX part last night, but I've still got to record my narration of it and then transcribe the narration. Oh, and I'm also planning to Skype with my mom this evening because I won't be able to do that tomorrow. And Lance got tickets for us to see Suburbicon, but I'll need to cancel unless I can finish the project by noon. SIGH.

On the pizza experiment yesterday - I ate two slices and decided that I can wait at least another 3.9 years to do that again. And to think I used to be able to down an entire pizza all by myself and still want more the next day.

QOTD: I have in the past. The first year those super awesome (now standard) carving kits came out I had a blast doing pumpkins! But, as you've probably gathered, I'm not a big celebrator of holidays in general :P Or a decorator.

1: protein shake
2: hopefully leftover cod and arugula
3: no idea, either leftovers or someone who is not me will get something take out. I've got too much work to do to deal with dinner and chair moving is at an awkward time.

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: I'm sure I'll burn some calories moving a huge ass chair around! ;)

Happy Saturday! I am still at the OH conference. I was surprised to find that most of the people I have talked to are not active on the OH site here (some do not even know about it). Apparently the organization is well known in other ways in California? In New England it is only the web presence that we are familiar with. It is an odd feeling for me being her because I am lonely (one of the only people not with a friend or group), and because I am so thin right now. Even people with WLS question whether I have had it.

QOTD: We used to carve several pumpkins and put them on our porch in our former neighborhood. Now we do not - I have some uncarved ones out for decoration, but that is it.

1 year, 7 months post-op (maintenance). 10 work days to retirement (11/13).

B: Emipie egg salad

L: Buffet lun*****luded at the conference - probably meats and cheeses

D: leftover contents from 1/2 sandwich I got at a deli yesterday - I already threw away the bread, but the insides were yummy

S: protein snacks from goody bag. They have given us a ton of stuff already and more is coming today.

So, are most of the people represented pre-surgery or haven't lost to a normal BMI?

Both. It is a large group, so the Post-op people probably reflect the average statistics on both average loss and % regain? So that probably puts me on one end of the curve? Interesting factoid yesterday was that percentage wise, VSG was by far the most performed WLS surgery in 2016.

Liz!! I'm at the conference too (though I live close enough to be home overnight). I also wondered how so many people knew about OH without ever using the forums. What a loss for them!

My phone doesn't work in the hotel - grrr - but I'm tall (6ft) with brown shoulder length hair and will be wearing a navy, green, and white patterned blouse and jeans today. Please flag me down if you see me, I don't really know anyone either and would love to sit with you or have lunch with you!

I'm short - will have on tan slacks, black shirt, orange sweater (sweater probably most prominent). I'm going down shortly (had a home crisis to deal with).
