Morning! Today is meeting day, so it'll be busy. I have an acupuncture appointment this afternoon as well because I've been dealing with some sciatic issues. I'll have lunch with co-workers in between that and meetings.

QOTD: Have you ever traveled internationally? If so, where was your favorite place? Sadly, I've only gone as far as Canada. Though, Nova Scotia was truly beautiful to see. We'd like to do more international travel with the kids as they get older and can appreciate what's actually involved (ie: not gripe because of a long car/plane ride).

Good morning! I still don't have a voice (I can only squeak - and I'm trying not to do that). I'm going to work because otherwise I feel fine. I'll have to type instructions for the kids to see on the SMART board. Plus there's an assembly at the end of the day, which is when I have my most rambunctious class. That should help.

QOTD - Like you Erin, I've only been to Canada. We went to Niagara Falls for my senior class trip. We were supposed to go to Ireland for our honeymoon, but Jaime got pregnant (after 18 months of fertility treatments) and was so sick all the time that we decided to stay stateside. We're supposed to be going to London with friends next June.

B - latte, cottage cheese

L - leftover steak with avocado verde sauce

S - protein shake

D - ham and cheese omelette

E - yoga tape

water and vitamins on track

Good morning! It is gloomy here (but warm). But I don't care as it is my Friday. I'm leaving for the OH conference early tomorrow. It may be my last trip alone for a long time, so I am looking forward to it. Putting support in place for DH was a challenge, but worth it.

QOTD: Funny, when you said "internationally" I didn't think of Canada and Mexico (I guess because they are neighbors). I've been to both. I've also been to a few Caribbean places on cruises (and Aruba annually since 2010). We went to Ireland twice and Italy once. We are planning on a trip to Paris next fall, then that is probably it for far ranging travel (other than Aruba). Favorite? Hmmm... Ireland was the best for natural beauty and music. Italy was best for history, art, wine and food. Aruba best for relaxation, friends and beach.

1 year, 7 months post-op (maintenance). 11 work days to retirement (11/13).

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tunafish, pickles and cottage cheese

D: pulled pork

S: baked apple

For Erin: I've been wondering - do you put the miralax directly into your coffee?

Yep. My coffee gets half a capful of Miralax. You don't taste it at all in coffee.

Yesterday ended up being unexpectedly long. I left the house at 9am for my pre-op with my reconstructive surgeon. That appointment went super well and I am getting more excited about surgery #3. Hopefully the LAST ONE. Then I went to my bariatric surgeon because I have a suspected hernia that I was super scared about due to location. He confirmed my hernia but also eased my fears that it's not as dire as I think it is. He ordered a CT scan and said he'd prefer me to get it done there, at the hospital. Since the hospital is at least an hour drive away from me, and often more due to traffic, I stopped by radiology to ask if they had any openings "nowish" and they did! So I was able to get my CT scan with about an hour of waiting. Woo! I ended up getting home close to 6pm, since I needed to make a quick grocery store trip before getting home. Long day, lots of emotions, but ended with HUGE relief.

The downside is that I didn't get anything done for school aside from some reading in the waiting rooms, so I have a ton to do today :/

QOTD: As a kid I went to Canada often since my parents had lived there for the first few years of marriage and loved it. Then I lived in England for the first three years of my marriage. And since then I've been to France, Italy, Iceland, and Norway. Although only Norway for any length of time. Currently in the process of planning the next Norway trip which is going to include Denmark for Lego Land and Noma. Woo!!

1: protein shake
2: last of the leftover chipotle
3: leftovers - tilapia or cod. I had planned on making a beef dish in the sous vide, but realized last night that it's got a 12 hour cook time. So I'll prep that tonight and get it cooking bright and early tomorrow. Tomorrow was going to be a leftover night, so no big deal to swap the two nights!

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: hopefully some walking

your post about the hernia made me re-evaluate a small soft "bump" close to my groin. The bulge got bigger lately and ..I can pu**** in.. ugh.. as much as I hate that- it is probably a hernia, and it is getting bigger. I guess Ill have to show it to my gastro next time i see him. The no fat in the area makes the bulge really visible. It is either the or swelling around my ovary. Either way - not cool.

If it is hernia - it probably has nothing to do with my RNY except me losing all excessive weight specially in that area. It sucks to get older.

Apparently mine is a lumbar hernia and those are normally congenital. Very interesting!

you think the fat loss and PS made it "visible"? or some other reason it was not detected earlier?

I don't know. They tend to grow very slowly, so it might have only now gotten to the point where it's noticeable.
