Can you suck on sugar free candy during 2 week post op liquids phase? Friends brought me some and I'm not sure. Thank you!

Carol

I would think it would be fine. I chewed gum today. The artificial sweetener in candies will give you the major poohs if you eat too many. Some packaging even says "may have laxative effects".

I did and found it helped with constipation. I only had one or two a day though. They can cause terrible diarrhea is you do not carefully control them.

Probably. It might cause cravings, could increase stomach acid, and might have a laxative effect.

Read reviews about sugar free gummy bears and decide.

I would not touch that. This is not a good way to deal with constipation IMO.
