Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Sunday 10/22/17
Morning! I slept in until almost 7am without waking up at all. I don't remember the last time I did that. I didn't get a hike in yesterday, but I did get to go for a run. Today we're going hiking with the kids and planning to pack our lunch to eat while we're out there. Then I'm going to pick up my niece and take her and the girls to the playground because it's supposed to be 75 degrees today. I'll probably take them for frozen yogurt too. Tomorrow I have to return to the reality of normal work for a week, before leaving for another conference next week!
QOTD: Continuing on the theme from yesterday, what was/is your hometown mascot? Our town was formed originally around logging and mining of sandstone. The sandstone mines are long depleted, but the mascot is the Sandstoners. Or, as they are better known - the stoners. Yes, really. My girl's school are the Colts.

Good morning! We went to SIL's for dinner last night. She made a great weigh****chers eggplant lasagne. The calories were good but not for the 2 chocolate chip cookies I ate later... Tonight DH and I are going to a display of 5000 carved pumpkins. It is about an hour away so we will probably stop for an early dinner on the way.
QOTD: I mostly grew up in Natick MA and we were the "Redmen". For somewhat obvious reasons, it was changed to the "Red Hawks" in 2012. I still remember wearing our red and blue school colors to the fall football games.

I'm in a lot of pain still from my walk on Thursday and it's making me angry. Angry at myself for getting so out of shape with these surgeries that a freaking walk has left me in agony now for 4 days. I am NEVER going to let this happen again. The crap thing is, though, I can't do anything about it until I'm no longer in pain, and that might take a few more days. But once the pain goes away, I'm going to get back to walking and yoga every day between now and my next surgery. I've only got two weeks, which isn't enough time, but doing nothing during those two weeks will be even worse. I have not felt this level of pain since my highest weight.
QOTD: Not that I'm aware of!
1: protein shake (it's so nice to have a shake after a day of not being able to have one!)
2: protein bar (I think my only time for lunch today is in the car, so a bar it is.)
3: sous vide butter miso cod
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: nope

Be kind to yourself, Gwen. Your body has been through a lot. You have had to give it time to heal properly. You will get your strength and stamina back soon enough!! #patience

Unfortunately, I feel like giving myself time is what's gotten me into this predicament. I should have been out walking every day and I haven't been. So now I'm paying the price and it's very frustrating. :|
But thank you.

I basically hurt from the waist down. Hips and knees are sore, plantar fasciitis is flaring and shin splits are what are really wrecking me. I need to be walking, clearly, but going from effectively nothing to a fast four miles was super stupid. Tomorrow I'll walk a mile and do that every day between now and surgery. Hopefully I'll be able to add more each day - especially once the pain from the shin splints has subsided.

Good morning. Teddy got a mild cold a couple of days ago, and I've just caught it. I woke up with a sore throats. I really can't take any time off this week, so I'm taking it easy today. I was going to mow the grass for the last time this season, but that can wait. I'm going to make some coconut chicken soup and lots of ginger tea.
QOTD - our mascot was the lynx
B - latte, cottage cheese
L, D, S - soup with protein powder as needed
