"Hunger pains"
As has been mentioned look up the carb content on bananas. You'll probably never want to eat one again. Also the oatmeal is a really bad idea like was mentioned as well. Don't get me wrong I eat a balanced diet I just don't eat it at every meal.
I hate the sicky sweet protein drinks. Spent a fortune on Isopure (every flavor) just to discover that I hated them all. Now I do Isopure unflavored in either broth, soup, or anything that has some liquid to it. Warm, not cold. I made a lemon grass thai soup that was to die for and also restaurant Pho soup. Jus****ch the temp of whatever you try it in (if you try it) as protein clumps over 140 degrees (which I also don't mind since it is like non-tangy feta cheese then.)
Some things work for some people and don't work for others. Be open to new ideas and as Kristi mentioned, reach the VSG menu posts. I've gotten some really awesome ideas from there and gotten a good feel for what the veterans eat and more importantly DON'T eat.
Diane

So glad you posted this because last couple of days I have felt "so hungry", not mental, but physical hunger. I know i have a lot of acid, I guess that explains it

As far as hunger it could be acid, you might need a ppi or a change of meds if it isn't working for you. I gotta tell you though for me, whenever I had any increase of carbs, especially the kind like oatmeal & simple sugars, my physical hunger pangs was always stronger than if I had stayed with eating dense protein.
Also eating carbs always made me hunger for eating more carbs & it would just snowball from there. You're probably getting hungry between meals because your body is physically craving for more carbs. Add in acid problems & the pangs can feel especially intense.
Ditch the oatmeal & banana. A lot of dietitians/nutritionists will push plans made for the general population. Not for those that had wls.

Hi, I am a week and half post op. I am thinking 3 hours isn't so bad. Time to have a small protein snack. I find the protein shakes can make my stomach a little uneasy too. I think the issue though is I am learning now what is full. If I drink too much protein shake then I feel sick, but if I ease up on how much, I do okay.
Good luck on finding the right balance for you.
