"Hunger pains"
Turkey bacon? Oh he!! NO! You have to eat the real thing. This morning's breakfast was two slices of bacon and two eggs. Another thing that you might enjoy and should be easy on your stomach is eggs with havarti cheese and potentially some Verde sauce. You'll thank me once you can eat it if you can't currently eat it.
Turkey bacon is fine and so is real bacon, ham, pork, beef, fish, and eggs. Push the protein. Don't eat rice, flour, bread, fruit, sugar or cereal. Very small amounts of vegetables and wait until month three to do veggies.
Check out the World According to Eggface site for wonderful suggestions.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I am over here chuckling at the fact you're eating bananas and oatmeal but questioning any kind of bacon at all.
Personally, I'd just do real bacon because - BACON. But, if turkey bacon is your thing it's so much better than the carbs!

Well oatmeal and mashed bananas are in my book from my medical team for the surgery so I figured it was okay to eat which was only 2 times. Do I like bacon? Sometimes but I prefer turkey bacon. Thanks. :)
Our medical teams commonly give us bad advice when it comes to food. I don't understand how, since the whole point is to get protein and oatmeal, bananas, cream of wheat, mashed potatoes, etc do not provide that at all (or very little).

Yes I agree about those. It's a huge learning process for me right now and I am researching everyday on recipes to eat that are healthy and low carb.
However I do love mushrooms and I looked up the nutrients for those and it's next to nothing so that makes me excited to have a bite or 2 along with my protein meats.
I didn't have any veggies - literally none until 5 months out. My direction from my RD was to eat nothing but dense protein until I could get in 3-4oz. I was about 5 months out and getting in 2.5oz and finally started taking occasional bites of veggies. I'm 9 months out now and I still barely eat them. I put 1/4 cup of cooked veggies on my plate at dinner only, but I rarely can eat that much.
It was such a mind bender for what I had been programmed to think healthy eating was, but I got used to it eventually. Early out I really, really missed salad. I don't miss it anymore (I haven't actually eaten a salad yet!).

Many of us use premier protein as coffee creamer and I also use it in cups of chai tea and earl grey tea. At almost 7 months out I don't need to drink a protein shake to get my necessary protein but I love it so much in my coffee and tea that I drink it anyway.
I'm 10 weeks post op and I still can't have bananas. I can't have any fruit or veggies unless they're cooked. For breakfast I usually do the oikois yogurts, and I get the clear premier proteins! The other flavors of Premier Proteins make me gag so much. I'm slowly trying to find a protein shake that doesn't make me want to throw up.
