How long did your stall last?
on 10/19/17 1:32 am
I am feeling so frustrated with my stall. Staying the same weight or up a pound for two weeks. I'm logging, being careful, doing the protein and water. About 6 months out. I know stalls happen. I know the scale is likely to move again. But every day is hard when first thing in the morning I see I'm still stuck. Would love to hear about your experience on this.

I think you should stop weighing yourself everyday. I'm not as far out as you. I did have a stall at week 2. I knew all of the advice about not weighing everyday because you'll drive yourself nuts, but I was just drawn to the scale. The only thing that helped was to put it in the closet and take it out once a week.

I've weighed daily throughout and, for me, it's great. But I also use TrendWeight which lets me focus on the trend of my weight and ignore daily fluctuations.

I also weigh daily (TrendWeight in my signature). I have been traveling this week and I feel totally lost not being able to weigh myself.

I had the typical three month stall for about a month, then started a weight loss pattern of basically 2 weeks of no loss, two weeks of loss. I lost more in the beginning two months, then evened out. I have a suspicion that the loss was governed somewhat by my monthly cycle, but I have no science to back that up. I'm at 11 months and haven't lost anything in nearly 6 weeks. So, I'm possibly at a stall.
I'm also a daily weigh-er. I use it as a reminder of my focus. But, if it's causing you distress, take a break from it. Basically, the only advice for a stall is to stay the course; make sure you're truly following plan. I can't remember how far out I was (maybe 4 months) when I re-evaluated my water intake and decided to up it from 64 oz to 100oz. I think that moved things along better.
The longest stall I've experienced was 3 weeks. But I began taking my measurements just before surgery, usually once a month. This really helps when in stall-mode, because you still see the inches coming off, even though the scale isn't moving. I weigh myself only once a week also.
Just remember that your body has been through a lot with WLS, and it needs time to adjust and rest itself. The scale will move again. Enjoy the journey.

I just broke a stall and I was stuck for about 2.5 weeks which I am told is typical for this soon post-op. Stick with your plan and the weight will come off! I know it can be super discouraging though. I was in a total funk when I noticed the scale had stopped moving.
You should stop weighing yourself every day. It's not good to obsess over this process and could end up causing anxiety and worry when you should be enjoying this process!

I'm like you. I had my surgery on 8/28. I have lost a total of 23lbs. I have been at a stall for two weeks and I am frustrated. I admit that I do obsess with the scale to the point that I weigh myself every morning and when I get home from work.
I never had anything I considered a stall. Are you measuring everything you put into your mouth and logging it with something like MyFitnessPal?

Most days I weigh everything! All of it. And I don't snack.
