Got my surgery date

After a long journey I finally have my surgery date. November 29th will be the big day. I had to change surgeons due to insurance issues. Thankfully the new one is good friends with my old one and run a very similar practice so all of my testing and pre surgery stuff transferred over. My biggest issue is when I got the call that my insurance was approved and to schedule the surgery my wife flipped out and started the oh you don't need surgery you can do it on your own crap.

Sounds like you have gone through a lot to get to this point. Congratulations! I'm sorry your wife is not as on board with this as you are, but hang in there. She may just be scared about the surgery in general. My husband was terrified about me actually going through it, but understood why and supported me. If we could do this "on our own" it would already be done. Good luck and keep us posted. Feel free to reach out if you need support.

Diane

Exactly. No one gets a say in your health but you.

Good luck! Do what your doctor says.

So happy for you, I know what a challenging crazy approval process it is. Sorry your wife is not being supportive, could be many reasons... Definitely stand your ground that this is what you need to do to save yourself, but hoping you can resolve with her based on what her actual concerns& fears are. People who haven't lived through our challenges, cannot possibly understand why we NEED this tool. Good luck!
