Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Wednesday 10/18/17
Morning! Day #3 of intense training. I'm getting a ton of fluids just to make sure I stay engaged and have something to do with my hands during the training. I think I got about 140oz yesterday! Coffee, decaf coffee, water and half of a Diet Coke. I went out to a diner next door to the hotel last night and ordered a cup of chili. They delivered it in an overflowing bowl and I ate just enough to make the bowl level and paid $3.62 before tip. That was my only meal out since I have arrived (but I've bought plenty of coffee, LOL).
QOTD: What's a pet peeve of yours? I think we've asked this question before, but I know mine vary by the day. Right now I'm annoyed that my instructor has a repetitive statement he keeps using out of context. He'll say "none the less" as he's transitioning slides and the statement doesn't even fit what he's trying to say. I've noticed other people do it with "the fact is" or "so anyway", or the classic "um". DRIVES ME NUTS.

Good morning! How was drinking the Diet Coke? I haven't tried anything carbonated since surgery (I was never big soda drinker anyway).
I'm glad it is Wednesday, as I have short days for the next 2. Next week is a 3 day work week, as I am going to the OH conference (then 2 more full weeks and I'm done)
QOTD: I have lots of pet peeves - my currently irritating ones are when people leave doors to closets or outside open or don't turn off lights in rooms they are done in.
1.5 years post-op (maintenance). 16 work days to retirement (11/13).
B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and ham
L: roast turkey, ham and cheese
D: Halibut (last of 3 nights - it was great!)

I think people either have no reaction to it, or they hate the feeling immediately. I wouldn't suggest trying it as early as I did. I think my surgeon said to try at 6 months. I had ordered a Diet Limeaid from a Sonic and for some reason didn't remember that it's (lightly) carbonated. But truly, once you are fully healed it won't actually damage you, it might just not feel very nice.

Good morning. I had a rough day yesterday with food. I had a full day - left the house before 7 am and didn't get bac****il after 10 pm- and I was running on about 5 hours sleep. I packed half a protein bar for dinner before a meeting, and it wasn't filling or satisfying. I drank a ton of water, but I ate some nuts at the meeting, and came home and ate a string cheese and some sliced ham - pretty good choices, but they added over 200 calories to what I had already planned. I've done some work dealing with emotional eating (mostly breathing exercises when I noticed I'm getting too stressed or angry), but this felt like it was coming from a place of exhaustion. Fortunately I don't have days like this frequently, but I need to plan my meals much better when they do occur.
QOTD - I have a problem with certain sounds. Chewing is a bad one. Bagels are the worst. Ive had to leave the room if someone is eating a bagel. Last night at the meeting I could hear the woman next to me picking her nails. It was driving me nuts. I've never been diagnosed with misophonia, but I wouldn't be surprised if I had it.
B - latte, cottage cheese
L - leftover brisket
S - protein shake, roasted veggies
D - shrimp (over pasta for the family)
E - yoga tape
water and vitamins on track

Not feeling great today. Been sleeping in the living room since our bedroom is now uninhabitable due to the roof leaks. I miss my bed!

Good morning, all! Yesterday was mostly a good food day, but I had a little munchies at bedtime. Instead of having what I was hankering for, I tried to have lesser calorie things. So I ended up going over by finally having what I actually wanted.
QOTD: I have pet peeves about everything. Mostly about slow drivers and lolly-gaggers. I'm a move fast- get there and get it done kind of person. Housekeeping does not apply. I am probably the worlds greatest pet peeve myself!
AM: Espresso with van pp, sf white choc & peppermint Torani
S: Cheese Stick
L: Chicken thigh, cottage cheese, hummus
S: Yogurt
Upper Body!!!
S: Carmel PP
D: Chicken Thigh, Cottage Cheese, hummus
Water & vites!
After finding out on 10/4 that he was getting laid off on 10/18, Art accepted a job offer yesterday! Woo! He begins tomorrow. He's really busted his butt working his connections and interviewing and everything, but I don't think any of us expected he'd get an offer so soon. No lapse in any sort of coverage AND his severance package will make a lovely dent in our school/surgery debt. Wooo!
Today I'm going to see my therapist. I haven't seen her since July 26 which was before surgery #2. Long time. Aside from that outing, it's a day to work on school.
QOTD: Not even going there right now. StressGwen gets pissed off at everything.
1: protein shake
2: deli chicken
3: sous vide egg bites, hash brown or roasted potatoes (Yesterday I did 45 minutes at 167 and they were a bit wet still, tonight I'll go for 60 minutes.)
liquid and vites: hopefully on track. I need to set up vites today and those days are alway**** or miss.
exercise: no - I had sort of planned on going to fitness classes this morning, but ended up staying up entirely too late last night to do benefits enrollment with Art.
