Sipping question
I'm 9 days post-op, & able to drink regularly, not guzzling, but way more than sips. Could this cause damage? Is sipping just a practical guideline because that's all you can do in thr first days?

Sipping is what you start with. Increase your "sips" as you can tolerate, as everyone is different. But it will be quite some time before you gulp or guzzle.
Keep on losing!

I was able to drink swiftly soon after surgery with zero problems. I feel that sipping is the guideline so that people know they need to hydrate, even if all they feel comfortable doing is sipping.

It's sounds just fine to me. Sips are recommended for those that have more pain and inflammation from surgery. But lots of people can drink pretty normally not long after surgery.
If it hurts, slow down. Otherwise you won't harm anything.

I cant answer you from a medical point of view, all I can offer you is insight for what happened with me. I am able to drink a whole lot more than I can eat, I was worried like you seem to be. I assure you, being a few months out.... if there is something wrong you would definitely know it. Listen to your body. It will only let you take in what you can handle. If you cant handle it it will come back out! lol Hope that helps.
Thanks Tony

I'm 18 days post op and had the same experience. I was actually worried that my surgeon left my sleeve too big. Then I started on pureed and more solid food and discovered that there was nothing to worry about. Take it easy as you go and watch for the sign that you are full. It happens really quickly. One bite, you are not full and then all of sudden you are. My sleeve gives me a little pang when it is full. A little warning twinge. I ignored it one time and WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN. Although I did not regurgitate, I was mighty uncomfortable for about 30 minutes.
The important thing is to listen to your body. It will tell you what is right and what is wrong.
