I had high hopes that I might sleep in today, but my eyes popped open at 4:54am per the usual. Oh well, at least I bought maple coffee at the craft fair yesterday to look forward to! I'm leaving for a trip to CT today. I imagine that I will still be able to post, but might have no idea what my food for the day is going to be yet. I got a hotel room with a fridge and the training center has a fridge as well. I'm going to stop at a really awesome smokehouse on the way down and stock up on meat for lunches and dinners. They are paying me $57/day for food and my goal is to come out really on top!

QOTD: Do you like smoked meat? I know it can be very on/off for people. My father and uncle have run a side business smoking whole pigs for as long as I can remember. I remember one time they had a customer who complained that the meat wasn't done because it was still pink. She rejected the whole pig (even when they showed her it was up to temp) because of that. We ate pig forever that time My father smokes all kinds of other things or cooks them over an open fire on a spit he built. Fresh hams, pork shoulders, whole or partial turkeys. So yeah, I love me some smoked meat.

You do live a busy life Erin! Sounds like you've got a solid plan around eating and exercising though. I'm just trying to get through my last few weeks of work without going crazy. A lot of the transition work is just plain boring and I'm not being included on the newer planning (for good reason).

I did sort of sleep in today - I slept until 6:30, which is very late for me.

QOTD: I do like smoked meat, but generally I can only get it pre-packaged. Maybe I should get DS (chef) a smoker???

1.5 years post-op (maintenance). 18 work days to retirement (11/13).

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and ham

L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Chili (I made it yesterday)

S: Catwoman pumpkin yogurt

Art and I are still in Shenandoah this morning. We had a great canoe trip yesterday, but my body is very sore. I'm not entirely sure what we'll do today because I still need to finish my rough draft by midnight. Sigh. We're hoping to pack up and leave around noon, drive up Skyline Drive, get dinner, and finish the drive home, but I might make a case to leave earlier or not drive all of Skyline. We'll see.

QOTD: I love smoked meat. We got a Big Green Egg about 8-9 years ago and then Art got a Digi-Q BBQ thermometer setup and he loves to smoke meat. Which is convenient since I love to eat smoked meat! He's super annoying, though, with figuring out the timings and everything and he always gets it wrong so the meat is either later or way early and when it's way early he complains about it losing the "bark" and I'm just like "whatever, dude, I want to put tasty smoked meat in my mouth."

1: fried eggs, slice of toast OR omelet with leftover dinner veg
2: lunch meat and cheese
3: burger, no bun, and frozen custard at the local burger and custard place

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: I had hoped to do a hike today, but we won't have time since Art wants to get home tonight.

Good morning everyone,

Erin, You looked great in that picture yesterday. That's a great dress. How much weight did you lose?

QOTD: my son has a meat smoker and loves to make smoked meats. I enjoy them when I have them, but I don't seek them out.

Breakfast - salmon

lunch - chicken salad with spiralized cucumber

dinner - probably finish off the chicken cacciatore from last week unless I find something more appealing...

snack - atkins pb cup, 5 oz red wine, perhaps a cheese stick if I need it,

Have a good Sunday, everyone!

Carol

Been riding the emotional roller coaster last couple of days since my 'position was eliminated' in a re-org. My brain knows we are going to be fine (I'm primary bread winner in the family and I know I'll find something quick), but the heart is scared, hurt, and royally pissed off. Today I will be concentrating on my resume and paperwork.

QOTD: My husband and I took up smoking meat about 6 years ago. We have done all the standards plus fish, Disney Turkey and chicken legs, shark, salmon and cheese. We have an electric smoker with a Bluetooth digital thermometer so most of the 'work' is taken out.

16 days post-op

M1: eggbeaters, smidge of sausage patty and a teaspoon of cottage cheese

M2: Ground up General Tso Chicken and a Cheese Wedge

M3: Modified Shelley's Ricotta Bake and one chicken meatball

M4: 1/4 cup bean soup (keep trying to get this in)

M5: Left over cod and Roasted Pumpkin

S: FF Yogurt

E: Walking more in the house out of the wheelchair

Vites and water: Still struggling with water. Began drinking teas and gave up coffee for good. Vites on track.

This is meant from a place of caring because I really want to read your post, but your font is way too small for my aging eyes to make out the words! The regular font is easy for me to read...

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I didn't realize I had changed the font. I had created a template so I could just edit and post everyday and Word tricked me! So sorry to cause your eyes strain!

Diane
