Multivitamins!
Before I had my surgery I sent a bunch of short emails to different bariatric vitamin companies and liquid protein powder companies. I told them I was having weight loss surgery and was looking for some good vitamins and liquid protein. It was fun to get a lot of free samples and try them out before buying them.

I never once took a chewable vitamin. I was sent home on 12 pills from the first day out. I took them one at a time, slowly. I first filled my mouth with water, tilted my head back and dropped the pill in, swallowing the gulp and rarely feel let alone taste anything.

You're fine to not take a chewable. If you're able to swallow pills - go for it! You'll need to take two regular multivitamins a day (since we need 200% of "most" vitamins and minerals according to the ASMBS), 1500mg calcium (preferably citrate and no more than 500mg in any two-hour period), plus any other vitamins indicated by lab work - probably b12, vitamin D, and iron.
Calcium pills suck to swallow, since they all seem to be HUGE, but... oh well. That's definitely a case where I suck it up/deal with it, since the chewable options don't work for me.

They just highly recommended the chew able Flintstones because it is one of the only vitamins over the counter that have Iron.
I am able to swallow pills no problem EXCEPT the fact that the taste or smell makes it very difficult for me to do so.

The ASMBS doesn't want us to use gummies or vitamins for children, so Flinstones seems like a bad option anyway.
Maybe it's just a matter of experimenting more? Or taking them with a very strongly flavored/smelling drink to mask the vitamin taste and smell?

I've done the "hold your breath and plug my nose", applesauce, pudding, with juice or milk.

The taste and smell of vitamins disgust me as well. I take Bariatric Advantage Ultra Multi Formula with Iron 270C because they are in capsules (3 a day).

How about vitamin patches? There are many people here who use them and report good results.
