QOTD: "Dress up" is relative... I'm in business casual (slacks/khakis and collared shirts/polos) all week for work, and when I gig it's formal (tuxes for full concerts or suits for 'less formal' occasions). The rest of the week I'm in t-shirts and shorts. I didn't even bring "formal" wear on my cruise, I just wore my work clothes.

I don't see the appeal in dressing up.

B: protein shake

L: 4 oz spiced up chicken

S: protein shake

D: ??? probably Mexican

Fred you sound like my husband. He refused to go on any vacations that require him to 'dress up". The only crusies we've done are Norwegian because he wont' do a formal night.

Oh, I don't mind it, I just don't see a difference because I'm in those clothes every week.

"Really" dressy for me would mean wearing a white bow tie instead of the usual black. Or wearing my kilt!

Well, I will never say my life is boring. Got to work yesterday, worked all day and was handed a pink slip at the end of the day. 17 years. 2 1/2 years from the ability to go out on early retirement. The situation was purely political in nature. But it's all good. I'm been a slave to this organization for years. They don't pay anywhere near what I could make in the civilian world, but I stuck with it for the opportunity to earn a pension and the sense that I was supporting an awesome bunch of men and women in law enforcement that keep us safe. I will be fine though... it's hurts like hell, but I know the Lord does not give you anything that you can't handle... I just wish he didn't have so much faith in me. LOL

One really really good thing! I can't go binge on Chinese Food. I'm physically incapable! Woot! No food pity parties for me!

QOTD: For the last few years dressing up to me meant putting on some mascara. I've been so large for so long that I wore the same thing on my days off as I did to go to work. (Some dresses (tents) were in better condition than others but that was the only difference. I used to love to dress up so I look forward to being able to buy different stuff, wear pants, etc.

14 days post-op

M1: eggbeaters and cottage cheese

M2: Thai Lemongrass Soup with Tilapia w/ 1 scoop Unflavored Isopure (Pureed)

M3: Modified Shelley's Ricotta Bake and one chicken meatball

M4: 1/4 cup bean soup

M5: Cod and Roasted Pumpkin (Can't seem to get this last meal in, more often than not, it just gets left out)

S: Laughing Cow Cheese Wedge

E: None

Vits and water: Struggle with water is improving but not quite there yet. Vites on track.

Oh no, so sorry that happened to you! Sounds like you have a good attitude about a very crappy situation.

Pink slip after 17 years, I am sorry Ladyblu! Your right, you can't binge but the feelings are still there! Be kind to yourself, take care and reach out if you need help.

I am so sorry to hear this. I'm glad you are keeping a positive attitude, and not taking it personally. Hang in there. There will be something better ahead for you. Carol

So sorry about the pink slip but hopefully you will end up somewhere better. I got the "pink slip" too a few weeks ago but I am lucky to be eligible for retirement. It still doesn't feel good regardless.

I'm tired just reading your post, Erin! Off to my Nordstrom makeup appt in a little bit. Hopefully it's fun and productive.

QOTD: Mostly I wear comfortable stuff. T-shirts, stretchy cropped pants, sweatshirts. Nice jeans and blouses if I'm "dressing up". I have a lot of skirts, but they are about a size away still. Dresses are hard for me because I'm tall and long torsoed and the waists rarely hit me in the right place (many become empire-waists unintentionally).

B - coffee and plain yogurt with berries and nuts

L - carnitas

D - grilled chicken

S - cheese or jerky
