I just got sleeved yesterday. I have five holes from the surgery, and I'm curious about which one they pulled the stomach through.

Do you know which of yours? Is it the same gor everyone?

These are the things that keep me up at night lol.

There's normally one that's larger and more painful than the others - that's the one.

I asked my surgeon what went where on the holes in my stomach. He said:

right side top was the liver lifter tool

right side big hole was tools and where the stomach was extracted

left side bottom was camera

left side middle was light

left side top was tools

I got six holes. Not sure what hole 6 was used for! I can concur that the one that they removed the stomach through was a bit larger and longer and a bit more sore.

I had 6 holes and they pulled my stomach from the top left. It was larger and a lot more sore then the other incision spots.

I had 5 holes, 4 in a straight line across my waist and one above that line to the right. The second from the right was the biggest (about an inch versus less than 1/2 inch for all the others) and was where the stmoach came out.

I think different surgeons have slightly different techniques. I have one incision near my diaphragm and then four in a neat little row across my waistline. For me, the largest is the second incision from the right in the row and that one was also the most painful for the longest and it is where my stomach was pulled out. The remaining incisions are pretty tiny. If you're curious, I'd ask when you have your next appt with your surgeon.

Interesting question. I remember that being brought up in one of my pre op classes. Going by what I've read so far it seems it varies.

We were told it is the largest scar, and usually the bottom right or bottom left. I have six scars, three were not that big, so could dismiss those. I'm not sure which one my stomach came out of, but there the two that are the biggest (which are both on the bottom right and left) are roughly the same size, so who knows lol

I'm sure you can ask your doctor next time you see him/her.

Congrats on getting surgery done! Good luck in your recovery!
