One Year Surgiversary!!

Today has been one year since being sleeved at Tufts Medical Center in Boston!!!

I met my surgeon's goal over a week ago and am 5 lbs away from my personal goal. I have energy and am walking, running, kayaking, travelling again and all with no more knee pain!! Simply amazing!!!

For anyone thinking about WLS, discuss it with your PCP and your insurance company; research to find a great surgeon; make that first appointment and don't look back!!! You will be happy you did.

I don't usually do this, as I hate having my picture taken, but since today is so special, here goes:

August 2015 - 265lbs

July 2017 - 172 lbs

Your post is inspiring to me right now. Thank you! My VSG surgery is this Wednesday. I'm older and I wish I had done this before now. I'm anxious and excited. Any words of advice for recovery?

Congratulations. It looks like you're having a lot of fun. On Oct 2nd I celebrated my One year at maintenance. That's something that I've never done before in my whole life. VSG is such a great tool.
