Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Monday 10/9/17
Good Morning! Let Hell Week commence! It's Board of Trustees week which means that we have events Wednesday-Saturday, including black-tie dinners on two nights. Jon is traveling Monday-Wednesday and then heading to Ottawa for dinner with a friend on Thursday. I have a kid who's going to the dentist for a filling today and I have an eye appointment on Wednesday morning. Then, just when I fini**** up I get to leave for Connecticut on Sunday morning for 6 days. Throw in class and kettlebell and I might need life support by the end of the week. But, I bet it won't go by slow right?
Jon and I managed a 3.5-mile hike yesterday, as the weather turned around very nicely for the afternoon. It was 70 degrees and breezy again. I also dusted off my chest strap heart rate monitor and went for a 2-mile run during the evening. I hope that the chest strap can give me some real calorie data to eat for maintenance.
QOTD: Finish this statement: "I hope that...". I hope that I always feel as grateful as I do now for the ability to freely move my body. I hope that even as it becomes the new normal I can think back and remember the wonder and amazement that I feel now.

Good luck with your week Erin! I haven't had a week that busy since my kids were at home. I miss it and I don't miss it... Though right now I wish the time would pass more quickly. The last 5 weeks of work are going to drag.
QOTD: I hope that my husband (Alzheimer's) doesn't change too quickly so we can still enjoy some time together over the first few years of my retirement.

Good morning! It's been seven weeks from surgery today and I'm down 41 pounds. I'm starting my Christmas baking today. I usually make and freeze cookie dough throughout October. I've been gluten intolerant for years, and always make them with my own gf flour mix (no one can tell), but I'm making them with regular flour this year so that I won't be (as) tempted.
QOTD - I hope that this process inspires my wife to make changes in her own life, so we can be more active together.
B - 2% Fairlife latte, cottage cheese
L - chicken salad
S - protein shake
D - baked chicken, green beans

Your progress is amazing! I love the idea about the flower. Thank God I don't bake. My husband used to do most of the Holiday baking, but last year, as he was getting ready for VSG, we decided no one really needs it. We have already decided NO BAKING this year. Maybe in a few years we can add it back in.

Up early (NOT normal for me!) for my first day of work. Today is orientation at the main hospital (I will be working for a doctor's office in the physicians group at another location). They're providing lunch where I will be joined by the office manager where I will be working, which will be nice. Lunch will be Jimmy Johns subs and chips...I'll have a sub minus the bread and chips, and hopefully there will be pickles!! Loaded one of my textbooks (which is in electronic format) onto my phone so I can do some reading if there is a lull in the day, plus it will allow me to study during the 1-hour lunch in my normal schedule, which is about 45 minutes longer than I need! lol
QOTD: I hope that I always remember how amazing I feel right now, and that I never forget the focus and commitment I have right now for my new way of life and new way of eating. I never want the old habits to come back. I hope I can continue to fight the successful battle with my head hunger and live a much longer life than I would have before VSG.
B: Dannon L&F 80 w/almond butter and Fiber one, coffee w/H&H and xylitol
L: Jimmy Johns sub minus bread and ?
D: Hardee's Low Carb Cheeseburger, fresh zucchini (ended up having something else yesterday instead of this)
Water and vites on track
E: Long walks from employee parking lot to building lol
