Off and On Bloating

As of last week, I have had off and on bloating and I don't know why. I haven't eaten anything new and I have not yet progressed to fruit and raw vegetables yet. My abdomen feels so distended like I'm 9 months pregnant again. A couple of times I have had a bout of nausea as well and some back pain too. I'm not sure if it is related to the bloating I have. Sometimes I feel bloated just after drinking a small amount of water. I have tried taking Gas -X which has brought on some belching but not complete relief. Has anyone else ever had this experience? Any suggestions on what I can do? I mentioned this to my surgeon yesterday and he was not worried about it.

Are you drinking enough water? 64 oz. is a bare (survival) minimum.

Excessive bloating (gas) is related to your gut flora.

If you fall down you just have to get back up.

Perhaps you are constipated? High protein diets tend to cause that so many of us WLS patients struggle with it. It makes me feel bloated and gassy when it happens.

Yes, I have been dealing with some constipation. I am looking forward to when I am allowed to eat high fiber vegetables. I miss be able to have a salad.

Try adding some fat to your meals to assist with digestion.
