Good morning, VSGers! I'm really struggling because I'm still waiting to hear about a job I applied and interviewed for. I should have heard either way over 2 weeks ago. I know that they called my references the middle of last week. I emailed the head of the interview committee on Monday evening and didn't get a response to that either. I want to go hole up somewhere with Netflix and no people to have to deal with until I know one way or another. It's exhausting to have your brain in overdrive all the time.

To top it all off, this is crunch time at work for our semi-annual Board of Trustees meetings and they have added all kinds of events to the roster due to a dedication of our School of Business to a donor. The Events staff has had major turn over and they don't actually have anyone planning BoT this year that has done it before. So, I'm the one person (who is not actually events staff) who knows the heck they are doing.

QOTD: If you could have any superpower, which would you choose? This question may have come up before, but I'd say the ability to teleport/travel very quickly. I'd love to be able to see my friends around the country, especially my best friend, whenever I chose.

Hope you hear soon, Erin! That's maddening...

Good morning everybody! This morning I'm having an upper GI to look for a hiatal hernia as a possible cause for my GERD. I had one fixed when I had my VSG, but a CT scan I had for a kidney stone in March said there was evidence of one still and given the reflux I feel when I don't take Lansoprazole, my surgeon wants to check for one. Barium drink, yuck.

After that getting ready to leave for hiking in Sedona at dawn and book club tonight. Long day!

QOTD: I think I'm going to want whatever power everyone else says more than what I pick (teleporting sounds awesome)... Hmm. Maybe flying would be cool.

B - coffee and yogurt and barium ick

L - carnitas

D - Book club is at a restaurant with not a lot of healthy choices. I might do a salad with chicken.

S - protein pudding

Rats. Confirmed, I do have a hiatal hernia. Hmm. To fix or not to fix?

Good morning (barely - it is 11:30 am). I'm in the office today, taking down personal stuff and doing transition work. I expect to go in maybe twice more in my remaining 26 workdays. I have my 18 month checkup with my surgeon this afternoon (which is why I'm in the office - the surgeon is near here).

QOTD: Though teleportation would be excellent, how about the ability to not age? That sounds good right now.

1.5 years post-op (maintenance). 26 work days to retirement (11/13).

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Real Good pizza (first time trying)

S: cheese sticks, Baked apple

Hi All,

I like all your ideas for super-powers - much more interesting than mine. My hubby always says that my superpower is my compassion and ability to create safe places for people. My wish would be to make this true! hehehe I like the teleporting idea and the ability to fly. I would also like to be really wise so I could reduce suffering in the world. But for now I'm here, doing the best I can in this crazy world!

Breakfast - salmon

lunch - cold chicken and spiralized cucumber salad. yum

dinner - chicken with apricots and Kalamata olives - also yum

snack - one atkins peanut butter cup and sugar-free fat free pudding with blueberries

Happy hump day, everyone.

Carol

Made it to the next step in the interview/hiring process for the last interview I had! Next will be finding out if I got it; would be a great job and great pay, so let's hope!

QOTD: Not sure if it qualifies as a superpower, but I want the kind of magical power that Samantha from Bewitched had...wiggle my nose and anything is possible!! lol If that doesn't count, then probably super speed like The Flash...go anywhere, do anything super fast!

B: Yogurt w/peanut butter and Fiber one, coffee w/H&H and xylitol

L: Leftover Italian "egg pie" (aka quiche) from my BFF...delicious!

D: Not sure, but probably the last of the smoked pulled pork and some fresh zucchini

Water and vites on track

E: De-cluttering, cleaning out the car, and tons of recycling to get to the center today, that will be enough!
